Battle's OSU Visit

Im just stating what an actual insider said on another board as it pertained to the post which I answered to. And when you gonna talk about something I said why dont you stop being a little hoe and quote my comment to leave no specualtion.

Lol, y’all love acting tough on this here internet.

I wasn’t even referring to your post because I didn’t see it. I was referring to the one you replied to. You know, because I’m scrollig down when reading a page so I see posts from top to bottom. Typically that’s how it’s done big guy.

Is "Special Thanks to the Coaching Staff at UM" code for "thanks to UM coming around while O$U was flirting with Nick Cross and other safeties, I was able to secure a bigger bag"?

Battle was 100% an Oh St lead his entire recruitment, then he signs with Oh st.

Are some of you guys retarded? I'm asking that question seriously, no joke.

He's not even the top Safety on our board, Stevenson & Richards are ahead of him.

I know some of yall just started following recruiting like a year or so ago, I just know it. MF's want us to sign 10 STA kids in one class smh lol
Bring me Stevenson or I burn this bytch though, but I agree with u. Richards to me is a lock

You can’t whiff on something you never had, it does feels like we shot the ball with 20 seconds left on the close with using our official this early only for him to still commit to osu 2 weeks later. Would rather had waited until later in the process to make a move.

Sit this one out and chill out. DVD is a player personnel guy and at the end of the day he only can do so much in terms of recruiting and his greatest impact is when these kids get on campus.

Stevenson ain’t a done deal to Miami, uga or bama and it’s naive by anyone to proclaim that he is at this point in his recruitment. Just know miami is in a good spot for him.
The whole “you can’t miss on a guy you never had” is dopey UM fan nonsense. When you lose a guy you wanted badly, who is right down the road, to Methland then you missed. You lost unless he got bagged, we lost.

We gotta be the only fan base that continuously pushes that **** out year after year after year after we lose someone just because they never had us as a leader. Well it’s our coaches’ job to change that, it’s not a **** excuse.

It’s downright mentally infirm. How can they even pretend that’s a valid excuse for losing a guy from a UM feeder school to some lying **** 1800 miles away? If we never had a chance at a kid from a feeder school, then there’s something terribly wrong there. This ain’t Bosa, whose entirely family walks around guzzling Urb’s nut juice.

The only reason y I'm upset w/ Battle choosing OSU is b/c of how they completely treated him as a 2nd fiddle.

BUT, we have to step in to reality right now. We are not back. We have not had the on-field success. We have not had the draft success. Kids are very impressionable.

Right now, kids will give their left nut to go to Bama. Why? It's not just b/c Bama is winning...they are pumping out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounders. Who gives a f if they are bust....their players are getting paid to go to Bama, and then paid some more at the next level, even if it's a short career.

Kids are scraping to go to OSU. Why? B/c Urban is winning on the field and producing 1st round talent that are getting paid.

Kids are eager to go to UGA. Why? B/c in only year two, Kirby took them somewhere they hadn't been since the early 80's, and they have a guy who can say, honestly, he puts defensive guys in the 1st round.

So not only do we have to overcome bags, but we gotta overcome lack of resumes (Banda, Rumph, Searles), we gotta overcome reputations (Richt), and we gotta overcome on-field success (Going 0-4 in the middle of the season 2016, going 0-3 to end the season last year)

Richt is going to have to show it on the field. Families love him. But he's gotta be a little more of a shark in So. Fla b/c these cats ain't loyal. We can't have another long losing streak and our DBs, in particular, gotta ball.

All in all, gotta keep recruiting Battle. Who knows what can happen in a season...****, Urb can have a heart attack. But we need to hurry up and officially lock down So. Fla. No, we can't get them all, but we should be able to firmly land our main targets.

It cracks me up when guys on this board get on here and give the “He is X on our recruiting board and not as high or lower than others.” Like anyone on this got **** board has seen our board with their own eyes and know who is higher than who lol.
Sometimes guys are all big time targets and are all getting recruited heavily and will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Just because a kid was offered before another kid doesn’t mean he is higher on the board. Sanguinetti was offered months before Battle, but we probably wouldn’t take that kid now but we obviously would have taken Battle. Just because a kid is ranked higher on 247 than another kid doesn’t mean he is higher on our board than that kid. You heard Manny say he doesn’t give a **** about that.

Y’all are a trip. Now people on here know the order of our DB board, lmao.

And honestly, who cares where he was on our board?? The fact is they wanted him bad and recruited him hard. Whether he was #7 or #1 is actually irrelevant.

Maybe they wanted him bad. But if you allegedly want someone bad who wants someone else bad and you start to pursue said someone late in the game, how in the **** do you realistically expect to have a real shot at landing him when the someone else that he was deadset on eventually comes through? You might get lucky, and the staff sensed they had a shot when OSU slow played him so they went for it.

But come on. All of the telenovela crying and soliloquies over this kid really ain't warranted. Stevenson - fine. MAR - yep. I'll join the mope crowd.

But Battle, that's just p^ssiness at its best.

Lol
Sounds like more excuses to me but whatever man, you have your opinion.
Now it’s “we offered him late”, lol. We literally offered the kid an entire year before he has to sign (February of 2018) AND we offered him before OSU even offered him so I’m not trying to hear that.

Now I gaurantee that I can already predict how people will respond to that.

“Oh, we offered him after OSU and he visited us several times and has several teammates coming here and he still didn’t come? HE WAS NEVER COMING!!!”

And once again, it doesn’t matter if YOU don’t think it’s warranted. Easy for you to say that now. FACTS are the staff wanted him, there isn’t any “allegedly”, but whatever.

FOH.

You want to stick with the whole, 'we suck', theme so go ahead. Won't stop you. The kid was not a priority - he was a hail mary. And he wanted to go to OSU. Are we making that up, too?

But carry on with your agenda, please.

I think it's important to ask why our board has changed. We turned up the heat on Battle, why?

We love what we have in K. Smith.

So, It could be because we aren't feeling as confident in Stevenson (my guess) as information has began to leak that he's a Georgia lean or MAR (less likely).

The drop in talent after these 4 is significant. So although I'm not overly concerned about losing Battle. I am worried about Stevenson, and I don't like the options we have after that.

That being said, there is still lots of time and we can adjust our board and find someone out of state or a prospect may step up during his senior season.

Never once said “we suck”
See, that’s the problem with this board and so many others. If someone doesn’t see things the way you do, then we are automatically pessimists and doom and gloomers.

No, I just don’t sugar coat stuff and make excuses every time we lose a kid. We lost a kid that we wanted and have pushed for very hard here recently from a local pipeline. But most of the people on this thread are saying “eh, we didn’t even want him that bad so whatever”. That’s paraphrasing obviously, but you saying he was not a priority is just simply information that you do not know to be a FACT but you are speaking like it is. What we DO know and the FACTS are that we have invited this kid to campus several times over the past few months, **** we even let him OV and attend our exclusive Miami Nights event for our top targets. I don’t know, may just be me but that seems like = priority to me, no? You say he wasn’t a priority, ok. Serious question, what information do you have, or think you know to even begin to say something like that? The answer is none, it’s just an excuse to make you and others try to justify this loss.

Somebody pulled that card on me several weeks ago. Sanders isn’t a miss because we never had him. CIS logic.

And just so you know, you can be a priority and a “Hail Mary" (even though Hail Mary’s don’t visit your campus 5+ times) at the same time.

I for one am glad our staff aren’t pussies and stop pushing for a kid just because he may be a tough pull. Especially a local kid as talented as Battle.

Completely hear you regarding Stevenson. And that worry is fully warranted. This is a kid we've been after 110% the entire time, and he is a difference maker. But that one ultimately comes down to Stevenson's attraction to the UGA bag.

If he's a bag *****, he's gone. Just a matter of time. And that one will sting. If he can see the big picture, it's UM hands down.

I hear all of that and agree with you about the staff's decision to go after him. They had to give it a shot. He's a talented kid.

But that kid did not want to come here. He did not want to be at The U. He has wanted OSU all along. Odds were heavily against us.

If anything, I'm ****ed that Battle allowed OSU to slow play him and still fall for Urban's bull&hit lines at the end of the day. Was hoping he was smart enough to see right through that &hit but oh well.

Go to Columbus and enjoy your Natty Light and meth, I guess.

If reports are true that OSU was slow playing this kid, and he still gave that shytbag his commitment after the reported hard sell, then I don’t want this kid anywhere near our defense. That’s the definition of cuck right there. Someone needs to teach this young man about looking at actions, and not falling for words or dare I say bags.
