Aside from the 566 yards and 5 TDs..,

His only real bad pass was a TD. He pretty much couldnt do anything wrong expect decide to throw to our stone handed TEs

Barely over 50%

He was horrific for two quarters today.

Needs to be more consistent.

Hopefully he keeps getting better. BTW it's impressive the he's been able to put up frustrating 400 and 500-yard games.

Morris is the best quarterback we've had in a few years. He's not perfect but the kid doesn't throw dumb picks, and I loved that 2 minute drive against Ga Tech to take the game into overtime.

Luckily for him when he throws it right to a defender when we're on the goal line it goes through the defender's hands and ends up in Rashawn Scott's

I don't know how so many people, let alone 'Canes fans, can dog Morris after the game he just had. I don't think it's any secret that he's missed on a lot of "easier" throws this year, but this is, what, his 8th start? And honestly, it seems like that's something that 'Canes fans should be excited about. He still has an enormous amount of growing room, and can you imagine how good he can be with a whole season under his belt as the starter PLUS a whole offseason of working on timing, mechanics, watching film etc?

I think we're taking this kid for granted big time. He has a good head on his shoulders and, to echo some statements that D-Money has made in the past, he could be special here.

agreed he needs to be more consistent, but i'll take the way he is playing now PLUS the progress that he should make with the added confidence he has, the good coaching and the further jelling of the offense. it's all uphill for him. by the way, he's thrown about 1000 yards the last 2 games.

He threw into double and triple coverage half a dozen times. This thread is an overreaction and there's going to be an equal, but opposite overreaction when the inevitable occurs (the bad side) with those throws.

He had a fantastic game and I'm not sure how anyone would argue that, but what concerns some people is what certain things mean going forward. I'm just happy I saw a couple glimpses of him hanging in the pocket. I thought those glimpses were MORE positive than the numbers he put up. It means more than whether he actually connects on those homeruns or not.

I alluded to this in my post earlier in the thread - the stats are blown up bc we didnt run and can't play D.

However, as to connecting on the long throws, he looked way more accurate today than he has all year on the deep ball. From someone who often questioned his accuracy, those connections meant something to me today.

I like the fight he climbed the pocket today and stepped up, instead of bouncing outside

Morris cannot put this team on his back and win. Miami won despite some of his really bad throws and, in my opinion, horrid play calling. How does a defense get 5 turnovers and the offense gets 7 points?

The soft part of the schedule is over. ND, UNC, FSU, VT... 25-51 or whatever it was passing is not going to to do it against any of those defenses.

Anyone else feel like Morris is Kenny Kelly reborn, without the wheels though? It just ads more to my feeling of this being like the 98 team. Morris has a CANNON for an arm. Kid has the tools, but mentally he can literally drive you nuts. Kid can make some unbelievable throws down field, and then blow a 5 yard out or lateral. Same thing I remember with Kenny Kelly. He throws everything 100mph. I just hope Morris can get the mental aspect down the way KK never did.

I honestly dont know what we have with Morris here. D Money may have been sarcastic, but Im not. This kid could become one of the GOAT here, or he could end up being another Kenny Kelly. I WILL say **** if Im not rooting for the kid. I want him to succeed in the WORST way. I think he is a good, humble kid with amazing tools, if he can put it all together, he's going to be LETHAL. But man he has GOT to learn to settle down in the pocket and develop a "touch" for those short/intermediate passes.

Also, can we PLEASE FIND THIS KID A F*CKING TIGHT END to throw to?? Seriously? Walford and Cleveland were a joke today. We are SERIOUSLY hampered by not having a quality TE on this team. That is probably the ONE key missing piece that this offense lacks, that we always had back in the day. Golden needs to sign THREE stud TEs this year, that and DT. Just load up the truck with those guys. This offense, with a good TE, is going to be FIRE in the next two years.

CANE4LIFE, if you look at the numbers KK, never put up numbers like this. I think he's more like Scott Covington, rocket arm, with some limitiations in other area's, though. But as I mentioned in another thread, he's hot and cold, he is, what he is

Seriously, what will it take to satisfy some people? All this team needs to do is win, and show improvement.

Morris is as good as gold in my book. Very Very Few QB's I would take over him right now.

He account for 500 yards of total offense and 5 touchdowns, but they won in spite of him.

Well, in all fairness it was Ryan Williams that led the drive last week and made the throw to win it this week.

Wonder why we dont play him more?
