I love Perryman, he may not be Lewis, Vilma or Morgan, but the kid is a baller and hits like a mack truck. With improved DL play, he could easily be All-ACC.

Nobody will be Lewis and Morgan. Those two were once in a generation type players. Sean spence reminded me of vilma. IMO the best comparison for denzel is beason which, though not ray Lewis, is a comp that would flatter most players.

I think where my pal was going was production, he might not have followed his injuries etc....We are used our main guys getting 100+ tackles 4-6 sacs 15+tfls etc...

I think DP has had like 65 tackles a year so far with one sack...

Derrick Morgan was a first round pick and would have been a perfect fit in this system. If we somehow stole a player that is even 75% of that from a JUCO in the summer....crown whoever the **** is responsible.

Vilma and Morgan weren't Vilma and Morgan as sophomores either. Let Perryman do his thing for his whole career and then judge him.

Perryman is playing a different position and is being axed to do different things in a different defense. As a football professional, your friend should know that instead of just looking at bare numbers.

If he can stay healthy this year I can see him having a similar impact as S. Spence did. If you remember Spence was banged up a lot as a sophmore and then played very well his junior and senior season.

You just some cred...Dan Morgan was a stud and fought injuries his whole career

1998 (SOPHOMORE): A first-team All-BIG EAST selection...recorded 150 tackles on the year, the third most by a Hurricane since 1983... team leader in tackles for the second straight year...BIG EAST leader averaging 13.6 tackles per game...also led the Hurricanes with 78 solo tackles...ten tackles for loss was second best on the squad...registered double-digit tackles in 9 of 11 games...led the team in tackles in 7 of 11 games...only sophomore named to the initial 68-player "Watch List" for the 1998 Butkus Award, honoring the nation's top linebacker...underwent surgery to repair a broken left thumb following the Boston College game...missed a large portion of the Hurricanes next contest vs. Temple after requiring six stitches to close laceration suffered during game on left hand...had his streak of 11 straight games with double-digit tackles ended following the thumb and hand injuries...played at 100 percent in win over UCLA recording 19 tackles, 10 solo, one tackle for loss and a pass break-up...recorded a season-high 19 tackles in each of the first two games (East Tennessee State and Cincinnati)...also had two sacks against ETSU...credited with a pair of fumble recoveries at Rutgers, becoming the first Hurricane since 1990 (Darrin Smith vs. Notre Dame) to recover two fumbles in a game.

Also already had to move him away from his best position, a la CMac, out of necessity. DP is barely getting started folks, barely.

You mentioned it...DP was a soph, I am sure the NFL is not watching too many Sophs unless your are Clowney etc...I agree...

Ufomba Kamalu is his name.

People need to stop calling him Kamala or Klamalamadingdong. You must show him some respect.

****, Morgan was an absolute liability his frosh and much of his soph year.

what morgan dan or derrick..

Dan Morgan was a boss. He had 18 tackles in the Superbowl. Love how Canes show up big when it matters most. Agree with his assessment of Quan, and I'm intrigued by what he says about Derosier. Not concerned by his comments about Perryman as he was an underclassman. I love Figs, Kirby, and Perryman as our future LB corp - loads of talent there.

yea he only led the team in tackles..I am not sure we all watched the same games..due to his bad fresh yr he was all BIG EAST going into his soph yr..his soph numbers were posted above...150+tackles that is not a liability that is a first round draft pic....

1997 (FRESHMAN): Emerged as a true freshman to start each of the last eight games at weakside linebacker...first true freshman to start at linebacker since Ray Lewis in 1993...became the first true-freshman since Lewis to lead the Hurricanes in tackles...registered 105 tackles for the season...led the squad with 68 solo stops...also recorded four tackles for loss, three sacks, one pass break-up, and caused a fumble...posted team-high tackle totals in six of final seven games...played sparingly through first three games before cracking starting lineup in Week 4...selected by The Sporting News as a second-team freshman All-American...made first career start vs. West Virginia...sacked Mountaineer quarterback Marc Bulger causing a fumble that was recovered at the UM 39-yardline to thwart a potential WVU scoring drive...led Miami with 11 tackles, including eight solo, against Florida State...followed that game with a team leading 13 tackle performance against Boston College to become the first true freshman since Lewis to lead the team in tackles for consecutive games and to record back-to-back double-figure tackle games...also led Miami with nine tackles against Temple...turned in a 21 tackle performance at Virginia Tech, including 14 solo tackles...also credited with 14 solo tackles a week later vs. Rutgers...closed out the season with a 19 tackle effort, including 13 solo, vs. Syracuse...also had two sacks and a tackle for loss against the Orangemen...registered double-digit solo tackles in four games, including each of the last three...one of two Hurricanes to record 10 or more solo tackles in a game, and the only player to do it more than once...tallied 94 tackles (64 solo) over last seven games... averaged 13.4 tackles per game (9.1 solo) over that span...had 11 tackles to his credit through first four games...entered preseason drills at fullback before switching to defense one week into camp.

Just because he led the team in tackles doesn't mean he wasn't ******* things up left and right. He just played 100mph every play and our defense sucked in general so there were plenty of tackles to be had.

No worse than our record setting D from last year where a broken legged DL led our team in tackles...
I know it is stupid to compare Dan to Denzel....that is not fair to Denzel....but both had crappy teams the first two years and both have fought injuries so far into their careers
DP has a long way to go...he needs more than just a few highlight hits...
