AQM

I love Perryman, he may not be Lewis, Vilma or Morgan, but the kid is a baller and hits like a mack truck. With improved DL play, he could easily be All-ACC.

Vilma and Morgan weren't Vilma and Morgan as sophomores either. Let Perryman do his thing for his whole career and then judge him.

Not to get into the rest of the morass this thread fell into, but Vilma was **** good as a sophomore. He was All Big East. And came up big in the NB game, amongst others.

All Big East was akin to being All ****** back in those days. I remember Vilma's career arc quite well, and I'm positive he wasn't the same player his sophomore year as he was his final year here. That was the point. He was good as a sophomore, and so was Perryman for that matter. But he wasn't the finished product just like Perryman isn't yet. I'm sure you get that point.

Somebody is wearing their white coat and carrying around their football beakers.

Watch how much Perryman will improve when he gets a good DL in front of him and some counterparts at lb who can do their jobs. He has the ability to be a tackling machine like those guys but he needs help.

He says that he "is set" ,Monaday and he "wants to start".......up to 220 lbs

His playbook should consist of killing the QB. He gon learn today.

He wont be doing much of anything at that weight. He will get pushed around and manhandled. Dont get your hopes up too high for him to come in and show much more than a flash or two during the entire year.

Pretty fair post. I do think he could be a little more effective than McCord last year though and he made a few plays. McCord has insane upside but Arab$ is a better player IMO.

I want these kids to redshirt and worry about learning the college game and getting bigger, faster, stronger. Its horrible that this team has had to rely on young kids so much to win games.

220 lbs?

Where is picksix to tell me how AQM is just as ready physically as Olivier was?

SMH

REDSHIRT HIM

Of course. Perryman has the chance to leave here as one of our elite LBs. he needs some help from the guys up front, and he needs to be given the same time that the other greats like Vilma were given. Guys are looking at the final finished product of Vilma and Morgan and comparing them to Perryman, who had only played 2 years.

McCord was smaller and weaker, and he still got a lot a burn last year. Gabe Terry weighed about 198 and he played down on some passing downs.

Considering the alternatives, AQM is more than ready at 230 pounds. He also has long arms and plays bigger than his size. He will be a factor.

Correct. If he's only 220 pounds he will make a couple plays this year where he just runs around an OT who is surprised by his burst. Other than that, expect him to get manhandled a lot like Terry and McCord and all the other guys last year who had no business playing DL at the weight and strength they came in at.

People seem to forget, prior to 2000, Nate Webster was probably the superior player to Morgan( who broke out and had a monster senior year)

Don't mean to go off topic, but have you heard anything recently about Terry returning? I loved his upside.

D, the problem with the McCord and Terry examples is that they both had no business playing last year. They got abused. I think AQM is better than them and more advanced physically, but to expect anything more than some sparse situational production from a true freshmans at his size on the DL is setting him up for failure.
