Ww have to have better d line play this year. if they play better our defense will be much improved. even with E johnson gone.
The coaches rave and love shayon green any chance they get. Expect to see him get minutes before anybody else. He grades out extremely well...
Shayon got into the backfield a decent amount of times he just missed. I am not saying he is a world beater but he is a solid DE.
If he can stay healthy, Gilbert might be the most important addition to the team for the 2013 season. That's a grown man ready to play right now at this level at our biggest position of need. Our pass rushers were an absolute embarrassment last year.
That's the cot**** truth. If you're going to run a grown man defense, you can't expect freshmen, OLBs or relatively untalented players to hold their ground. Like I wrote somewhere else, Gilbert had 9.5 tackles for loss last year. Our ENTIRE DEFENSIVE LINE HAD 22.5 TFLs in 2012.

No disrespect to the kid, or man I should say, but he had to have set a record for snaps played without a sack last year.
If my memory serves me right he should be fine. One of the many reasons he chose the U over Notre Lame is because one of the courses he is taking over the summer, a math course, was accepted for credit at the U and not Notre Lame. Other than that his GPA is fine and test scores good.
You have access to his grades and test scores?
Anyone saying Shay is solid at DE was def watching games in standard definition last season with green and orange color schemes on that tv.

I know I'm in the minority, but I think we're a couple grown men like Gilbert from being a pretty good defense. I know Corch Duh' is the anti-Christ on here, but with that DL he was saddled with last year, no DC was going to produce a great defense.
With our offense, we don't need to have a top 5 defense.

Agreed. But I am not saying he is elite or amazing or anything but a solid DE. He missed on some sacks hopefully he finishes ONE MUTHAFUGGIN QB SACK next year.
From Susan Degnan's interview with Golden this AM:
* Golden expects newcomer defensive linemen Ufumba Kamala and Al-Quadin Muhammad -- "we call him Quan,'' Golden said -- to arrive in time for the first day of fall camp on Aug. 3.
* He also expects DL Julio Derosier, a jr-college transfer, to arrive on time.

Awesome news. Now, everyone cross your fingers for Davonte Bond...
