All-Time Miami-Dade Football Team

Charlie was THEE highest regarded one. He was a 5 star and was rated just above bobby if I remember correctly. **** lawd was that a HORRIBLE evaluation by those scouts. Him and Bobby just got lost.
I think the scouts had Charlie higher due to grade issues with Bobby. Both were fantastic backs but Bobby was superior to him IMO.

We throwing the ball....

Broward always been the passing county and ahead of Dade in that department.
So then how you gonna say Lamar is your QB than qualify his lack of stats saying he had to always run because he didn't have weapons... He always ran by the way cause he sucked throwing the ball like he still does. How bout them apples!

I promised myself I wouldnt open this thread and I ended up doing it and face palming half the time. LOL. If we are just talking HS accolades and nothing else..Alot of the names mentioned absolutely shouldnt be.

Just to put the rest a few things..The Dade LBs are: Lamont Green, Marvin Jones, Willie Williams, Nate Webster. PERIOD. Everyone else is distant. Derrick Thomas didnt really do anything in HS until his Sr year. He was in Kevin Carters shadow on his own team ... Great player but if we are just talking HS, he isnt in the class of those 4...Those 4 didnt hold a backseat to ANYONE.

Only one person mentioned Buster Rhymes? Sheesh. Smh. Tough crowd here. My RBs are: Buster Rhymes, Freddie Miles, Frank Gore, Troy Davis...I cant believe Troy Davis isnt getting more respect on here regarding his HS career. I would put Danyell Ferguson above alot of guys mentioned too. I dont want to step on any toes but I laughed at alot of the names being mentioned at RB including Bobby Washington and Willis McGahee who were both great but wouldnt be in the Mount Rushmore of Dades RBs.

Alonzo Highsmith isnt on anyones honorable mention. Put him at athlete or DE but hes on that list somewhere.. I dont think people realize how great he was at Columbus and how big of a recruit he was too. I would say if we were making an "All Time Biggest recruiting commits in UM History" he would absolutely be in the top 5.

Yeah those 4 LBs are the Mount Rushmore. There shouldnt even be anyone else remotely in the same discussion. LOL.

And I think the Legend of Bobby Washington is bigger than his play. He was a great Dade RB dont get me wrong. But he has to stand in line behind a good number of folks IMO. Troy Davis had a better HS career pound for pound.

I will say, you better bring a big stick if your going to go against Dade in a All Time HS team battle. Thats a really tough list to come up with.

Not a County in America could beat an All Time Dade team.....

I'd be curious to see a Cali list and a Georgia list. But I wouldn't know the break down of counties in either area. I'll take care against anyone. Especially when u consider alot of these Broward dudes getting listed are dade dudes as well...
Hope the boys caught some Fish....Lol

When I tried to make a team that’s the 4 LBs I chose. I tried to keep the honorable mentions short as the list of RBs could go on and on forever. But to me Gore is the best I’ve ever seen and a lot of the older guys say Miles is the best ever so I listed those two as my 1st team RBs.

I listed Duke Johnson as my ATH he tore up the playoffs his last year at Norland and became a 5* recruit. Troy Davis was as good as any RB in Dade history not named Miles/Gore and he should’ve won the Heisman in 1996. I really wish he would’ve been a Cane.

Also all time biggest commit Alonzo is def top 5 along with Melvin Bratton. Probably right behind Lester Williams.

It would have to be Los Angeles county area and they’re probably the only area in the nation that can even come close to comparing. But as I’ve said no one compares to Dade. Especially as far as HS defensive players. It’s not close. Orange County and Ventura county surround it and would be like the Broward to us.

Just saying Dade’s list of RBs s*** on this IMO.

Derrick only had one dominant yr....Great player, that should be on the list...but nowhere as talented as
Webster
Willie Williams
or Marvin Jones....I mean Webster had 400+ tackles in HS which is complete Insanity....
Nate was born to be a Cane. Not like those 400+ came against slack competition either MNW played no slouches. One of my favorite Canes ever.

I spent hrs talking with Nate back in the day....My Son was a HUGE fan of his....wouldn't shut up about him...since Chuck was on staff, I brought him down to UM many times, (12hr drive) and Nate would take him into the locker room to hang out with the players...People say Rohan was Pound for Pound the Baddest Cane ever....I disagree....in my opinion Nate was....6'0 230lbs....and not ONE player would F with him....His Hits at Greentree are still Legendary....Edgerrin...James Jackson...didn't matter....he practiced like it was a NC.....Back then practices were RUTHLESS....Great guy....but once the pads went on....it was over. @Brooklyndee was close to Nate...he'll tell you how Crazy Nate was....Lol....and if he hit you in practice, and you got up to argue or say something....you'd wish you didn't....Lol
