I just don't see Kiffin as an example of underachievement. You might make that argument at USC (despite sanctions), but given his talent vs the talent in his conference, it's not some big failure as some like to suggest. Mario has definitely underachieved at Miami given the personnel he's brought in vs the conference. I don't see how that can be argued. And I'm not saying any of that guarantees Kiffin would have been a better choice at Miami in the long term. I've not given up on Mario, but we're in a precarious spot right now with program momentum for many reasons.
