Hey you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. If you roll up to one of the shady club outside of Camp Lejeune, you never know how it will go. I hit on the hottest girl in the joint because why not (take into account this is Jacksonville so grading on a curve). She was very receptive and wanted me to go home with her because “my eyes looked like her husband’s, who was out on deployment.” I very politely declined.

I never made it past the Driftwood Lounge just outside the gate! That was early-mid 90's so I'm sure it's not there anymore. **** I had fun and spent a **** ton of money in that place

I think too many posters speak in absolutes. There are complexities and exceptions in every single subject we discuss here. Things escalate because most posters are either too stupid to understand nuance or lack the emotional intelligence to reflect logically.

If Mario is the only guy they’re willing to finance and support then it’s been over. However, I suspect that’s a narrative this fanbase has convinced themselves of that isn’t based in reality.

If this were true, we’d have no shot. It would mean our bench is not deep and our cash could dry up on the whim of one or two people. Impossible to survive long term in that case.

I think Cam coming here may have ironically been the worst thing that could have happened to our hopes of a real shot at an NC anytime soon. I mean, I loved watching him and how he carried the team to an exciting season. But that created a facade of a program on the improve - which buys Mario more years. We were a 6-6, 7-5 team at best without Cam. Cam gave Mario, the program and the administration cover. And while Cam was great, that ain't good.

ive said the entire this season was a product of cam. the rest of the team was bad. defense STs bad. OL was up and down imo but got hit w the injury bug

Why wouldn’t Mateer go to a program that has the guys that made him the hottest QB in the portal on staff? Btw, that season where Brent went 10-3, they had a top portal QB then, as well, in Gabriel.

10-4 OKSt.

10-3 Arizona

The games have to be played, which is y hypotheticals never work. OU could be 3-9 next season or 12-0; they’re already working on that OL via the portal & they recruited two of the top 15 OTs in the nation (including the #2).
