Venables as HC:
2022: 6-7
2023: 10-3
2024: 6-6

2025 Schedule:
Illinois ST.
Michigan
@ Temple
Auburn
Kent St
Texas
@ S. Car
Ole Miss
@ Tenn
@ Bama
Mizzou
LSU

Mateer is going to have at least 5 losses there. After that, would you stay and burn your final year of eligibility at Oklahoma?

Forget all that. The key is looking at what 2024 was like. After 2 amazing offensive seasons, he chased away his premium QB1 (Gabriel) only to watch the young gun slinger completely fizzle. Granted, injuries on offense, but that offense was FSU bad last year AND lost their WRs and OL.

SC might ruin his career. that DL is relentless.

Aren’t you a big Lane stan? He’s as mid as they get.
im not. i like lane more than mario because he brings a side of the ball in his own expertise so if **** hits the fan in season, he can take over that aspect. i just find it funny how this board hates lane but loves mario when theyre both mid but at least one can coach a side of the ball while the other is SOL and has no choice but to watch his defense get rolled over

I see 3-9
Predicting records this early is crazy work lol and I hope you are right BUT I can 100% guarantee they will win more than 3 games. Remember last year, y'all were the same ones who said there's no way the Gaytors win more than 4 this year.

I think too many posters speak in absolutes. There are complexities and exceptions in every single subject we discuss here. Things escalate because most posters are either too stupid to understand nuance or lack the emotional intelligence to reflect logically.

Then you have guys like @cway313, @ben, and @IndayArtHauz that just like to **** with everyone.

If you believe that’s false narrative more power to u. They decided to make a commitment that we haven’t seen in 20+ years to Bring Miami football back to prominence and Mario is the guy they hand picked to do it (he was literally still coaching at another school & said himself he wouldn’t come here if he didn’t have full support)… if he is gone by year 6-7 then he failed miserably even with all the resources. If you believe theyre just gonna keep pumping in the same money and resources after the guy that Boosters and the ppl with money HAND PICKED to bring Miami back fails miserably then hey I hope you’re right.
Got it so if Mario fails after 6-7 years Joe Echevarria is just going to shut down the program because a Columbus Miami Bro couldn’t resurrect it? Or is he just going to give up and drop us down to the Patriot League while solely focusing on academics?? If you believe that then you just don’t understand the big business world that Joe comes from and how he views the opportunities that big time college athletics bring to the University.

Will some of Marios Columbus bros pullback on their support because they’re butthurt one of their own failed after 6-7 years of giving him every resource due to no one else’s fault but his own??? Possibly but I suspect most of those guys didn’t get to where they are because they have some apocalyptic view of business that only one man can lead them to success with the caveat they must also personally like them.

do you honestly see the team being on the upward trajectory given that we need a new DC, nearly a whole new defensive roster, and QB and WRs?

to me, this cam ward season was exactly like 17 or mannys 2020. a house of cards
Yea we’re on much a better trajectory than we were before he got here IMO. But that doesn’t mean it’s a good pace.

I didn't say they would shut down the program lol, there will still be football @ the University of Miami after Mario Cristobal, the resources jus wont be same if he fails. U hinted at it yourself in the 2nd paragraph the next guy is gonna have to prove it without their blind support b4 they jump back in thats how invesments work Unless you think those Boosters/entities are irrevelant to our success then thats another story.
