Another thing to consider is that there are likely going to be 5-6 QBs from UGA/Oregon/Ohio St that will be in the portal either after the playoff or in the spring portal.

If Moore is the next guy at Oregon, why would Moga/Novosad stay there? Ohio St: Sayin is their likely #1 that leaves Noland/Kienholz SOL. UGA supposedly kicking tires on Mendoza so Stockton/Rashada/Puglisi a threat to portal if they add another arm. All 3 of these teams just signed 1-2 4*+ QBs.

Best case is we get Mateer. Second best is get someone like Robertson to enter and give him a big bag. Worst case we take one of these former 4/5 stars from a playoff team who don't have a ton/any experience and pray. Even the worst case is better than rolling with Emory I think.

We may have an easier schedule (in conference) next year than this year. I know everyone thinks every team sucks (especially if they aren’t historically good), but @GT, @Cuse, and @louisville was so much worse than what we have on the road next year.

While Washington State played 9 Pac 12 teams last year, they still went 2-7 in-conference and 5-7 overall. That was not because they were playing the mighty SEC, they were just NOT a good team in 2023, though they had a great QB

Now, you can crap on Washington State for going 8-4, but they played some good teams:

Beat Texas Tech (Big 12)
Beat Washington (Big 10)
Lost to Oregon State (same Pac 12 as they played last year)
Lost to Boise State (just made the CFP)
Beat San Jose State (bowl-eligible Mountain West)
Beat Fresno State (bowl-eligible Mountain West)
