Jesus. Posted those from my phone, didn't realize they were so huge.

Anyway. Just as a direct side by side on returning receiving production:

Returning production doesn't show a clear picture of HOW successful the respective programs were in 2024 with their offensive schemes:

-U of Miami had 4300 passing yards ... excellent WR / TE and RB group that were used effectively.
-Oklahoma had 2011 passing yards for the 2024 season. Issues with scheme, players, OL and production.

Miami is expected to have a slightly better OL in 2025, with excellent TE's, a real nice WR group with legit talented players taking over for Restrepo and Arroyo.

The only other slight concern I would have, on paper it seems like a great thing that Cam and Mateer are close and both started at Wazzu, and Mateer could see what Cam was able to do here from a production/branding/winning standpoint.

The flip side to that is would he want to permanently be tied to Cam, would he want to be the guy that follows the guy and deal with the pressure of expectations that comes with that.
Seemed to work out well for him at wsu

Well, yeah but Cam also wasn’t a heisman trophy finalist at Wazzu, Mateer didn’t go to the same high school as him, etc.

I’m not saying this will be something he cares about. But I do think it’s a possibility for someone to want to carve their own path, show they can do it different than the other guy. I hope to god that’s not the case here.

Forwarding this post to all South Florida WRs OSU recruits

Hear me out....

Mateer
TWO good corners
A GOOD safety
A GOOD linebacker

Let's not get greedy. Quality over quantity. Take the entire NIL budget and allocate it on those FIVE things listed above. Overpay on each if you have to.

Get me those five things and we're cooking with nitroglycerin next season.

Of course nitroglycerin is found in heartburn medicine which might be appropriate as well when these portal selections don't hit next season.

A WR and a DT are necessities. But overall, I’m with it. Gotta trust the young guys for depth at this point.

In a perfect world yes...but in a world of limited resources and one where we need QUALITY difference makers.....give me those 5 THINGS.

Anything left over, sure go get a WR and a DT...but I'd argue we have enough there to survive in a pinch.

While in high school he also watched another qb from a town 30mins away put up huge numbers and is now in the NFL in Dawson offense.

“Not a Farm Kid”

Before coming to Pullman, Matter was born and raised in Texas, Little Elm to be exact, about 35 miles away from Dallas. His Texas roots often get fans thinking he’s a country boy through and through, but he was quick to clarify. "I don't wanna put out this false narrative that like, I was raised on a farm." he said, laughing. “Like no, I was raised in the city. People say I sound like I'm from the south, I don't personally hear it."
Yeah, ITU randomly doing a front page article on Tune loving Dawson yesterday seemed like an assignment from Mario.
