Lots of his damage in the run game against equal or better competition. Dawson will need the offense to look a lot more like Clayton Tune at Houston than Cam last year imo

Well, yeah but Cam also wasn’t a heisman trophy finalist at Wazzu, Mateer didn’t go to the same high school as him, etc.

I’m not saying this will be something he cares about. But I do think it’s a possibility for someone to want to carve their own path, show they can do it different than the other guy. I hope to god that’s not the case here.

Yes sorry not disagreeing more making the potential counter that he was every bit as good as cam was at wsu. After seeing what cam did at miami, im sure he thinks he can replicate it

We NEED TWO safeties, We believe in OJ and #6 then I would rather get one corner and go TWO safeties.. We have NO Safety room or depth chart.

Just watched his first half of 2024 highlights.... it lifted my desk off the ground.

The throw at 2:30:53 isn’t going to make highlights because it was dropped. But much like a throw Cam made against Washington last year that was dropped (back of the end zone, 30 yard strike with the defender right in his face), this is one of the throws Mateer made that sold me despite it just going down as an incompletion. 50 yards with the defensive line right in his face, ******* DOT.

Mateer is a great running QB who is also a plus thrower.

I’m not saying he’s as good. But the comp for me is Manziel. Little chaotic, but thrives in it.
