Air Noland

Compare Mateer's tape to Air Noland's tape at the same age.... We get caught up in the moment but don't take into account stages of development. Noland's tape was elite. He just made his initial decision with his heart and not his head. OSU being his dream school led him to making a bad business decision.

Everything you wrote is nonsense.

[]__[] had the #1 offense in the country this year and need an elite QB to continue the momentum; Nolan is 4th on the depth chart and didn't have a passing attempt all year.

In the grand scheme of things I'd rather us have Air Noland than Mateer due to the fact he has multiple years, a super high ceiling, and it gives us more money to get difference makers on defense. I'm not saying he is better than Mateer RIGHT NOW. I just rather have someone you can build around going forward.
You must be joking

That's true of course but that doesn't mean that the young man will never develop somewhere else. Unless you are writing him off as a colossal bust because of him not playing his freshman year.

That doesn't mean that I want Noland here over Mateer as that would be certifiably insane. Mateer has proven his ability on the field where Noland has proven nothing yet. I'm just saying that Noland still has value as a prospect. I haven't exactly studied his tape so I can't comment on his pros/cons and potential ceiling.

Personally, I don't think Noland fits here in terms of the type of investment it would require with Nickel and Coleman in the pipeline but in this current climate, nothing is ever assured.

No I'm not... Only time will tell, but I'm very confident Air Noland is more talented then every QB in The University of Miami's room. I'm also very confident that Mateer isn't going to enroll at the University of Miami. With that being said, if you would rather have a QB room with Emory Williams, Luke Nickel, and Judd Anderson over a QB room with Air Noland, Emory Williams, Luke Nickel, and Judd Anderson that's on you. The University of Miami's current QB room is absolutely garbage in my opinion. We would be fourtunate to win 8 games with this current roster and Emory at QB next year. It is what it is. I just don't want to hear any complaints about it when it happens.

Just to let you know Mateer has multiple years......
Can we please have common sense... There is 0 chance Mateer doesn't enter the draft next year if he has a similar season to the one he had this year. The only way he comes back to college is if he regresses, which would defeat the purpose of the donors paying him the tender he is reportedly going to command.

If these are your true sentiments, then I would advise that you prepare yourself for a long year. Mateer is not going to enroll at The University of Miami. With that being said, Im of the opinion that Air Noland will become an elite QB at the college level. I'm calling my shot. Only time will tell, but I can promise you that I'm not going to be on here crying when we go 8-5(at best) with Emory at the helm. The University of Miami's current roster isn't good enough to supplement Emory's deficiencies for 9 or 10 wins.

Don't necessarily disagree. However if you bring in someone with multiple years, you run the risk of running the QB's on your roster off; namely Luke Nickel.
I can’t stand this kind of thinking. This is the exact opposite of competition. You bring in as much talent as you can and you let them compete for the job. If the loser transfers out, so be it. The idea of just giving the starting quarterback position to someone just because they’ve been on the roster longer is horrible.

Id take him as a backup, sure.

Lots of starting experience and successful in it only.

Would you mind explaining to me the type of investment it would require with Nickel and Coleman(two prospects rated significantly lower out of high school than Air Noland) in the "pipeline"?

Luke Nickel is light years better than Norland.

Please see the exit and never come back.....

Everybody welcome Norlands mom/dad/brother/whatever relative
Granted this is 18 year old 3-4 months removed from high school... So that's a 71.4 completion percentage, with 9.4 yards per completion, and 8.4 yards per rush. The int isn't good.. but again this is a true freshman at The Ohio St university. I'm not saying it's elite, but I am saying he was/is better then every QB on our current roster.

I will exit and never comeback if you can give any analysis whatsoever (based upon their senior/junior film) on why Luke Nickel is better than Air Noland. As a matter of fact, disregard the question. The statement alone tells me all I need to know about your the value of your opinion.

No idea.

Is Noland better? If Y...come play for the U. Are the other two better? Maybe. Then spend elsewhere.
