Air Noland

If we can stop gap and Luke Nickel is that guy after a year of acclimation then we're in a good spot. But yea, even the biggest Emory supporters (I'm a moderate fan) can't believe this is a 10 win team with him.
We have to stop with this hot seat stuff. A coaches execpections must be contextualized. If Emory is our QB and we win 9 or 10 games that is a huge success and a great season for us with our schedule next year. If we win 9 or 10 games with Emory at QB and our current roster Mario should get coach of the year.

You gotta be related to Noland...Or dont watch film Noland is probably better than Judd thats it Coleman and Luke is Big time ballers

You have 0 clue what you are talking about. Noland would have been a consensus Top 5 QB if he was in Nickels class because he was a consensus top 10 QB in THE CLASS THE YEAR BEFORE. Like I said, I'm not a ratings guy but the tape matches it. Air Noland has a far superior arm, he is more accurate, he has better pocket awareness, and he is a little less mobile. You have no clue what you are talking about.

If you watch Luke Nickel's tape juxtaposed to Air Noland's tape and that's the conclusion you come to then I am wasting my time conversing with you.

Now after you watch tell me which arm is superior

Granted this is 18 year old 3-4 months removed from high school... So that's a 71.4 completion percentage, with 9.4 yards per completion, and 8.4 yards per rush. The int isn't good.. but again this is a true freshman at The Ohio St university. I'm not saying it's elite, but I am saying he was/is better then every QB on our current roster.
Thanks Mr/Mrs Noland for trying to prop up your kid. Dont see Miami going from Cam Ward(heisman finalist) to an unproven QB.

Exactly. 3 million for Mateer? I would fold up the tent and head home. Just accept next year as a "Down Year" with Cario Mistobal. Save that money. I wouldn't waste it on Noland either. Tua has a stronger arm than he does.

We gotta do better recruiting the DB's and DEs in the future though. What's one more year no playoffs. I do feel bad for some of you who didn't get to experience the Canes in a NC either in person or on TV.

It was very fun!
Air Noland isn't going to command anywhere near 3 million😂 With no game tape he would be lucky to get 300,000.

That's true of course but that doesn't mean that the young man will never develop somewhere else. Unless you are writing him off as a colossal bust because of him not playing his freshman year.

That doesn't mean that I want Noland here over Mateer as that would be certifiably insane. Mateer has proven his ability on the field where Noland has proven nothing yet. I'm just saying that Noland still has value as a prospect. I haven't exactly studied his tape so I can't comment on his pros/cons and potential ceiling.

Personally, I don't think Noland fits here in terms of the type of investment it would require with Nickel and Coleman in the pipeline but in this current climate, nothing is ever assured.

This is my point...

In today's era of UFA in CFB kids don't necessarily have the luxury of multi-year QB development at top programs; there's either an incumbent starter or someone in the portal who is better prepared for the job.

Nolan can't afford to start slow and not be prepared to compete by year two because you're going to get recruited over. Other than this spring game film I haven't seen the kid play, but as much *** as OSU kicked this season he needs to ensure he's higher on the depth chart to take advantage of snaps. If not, he needs to go compete at a lesser program.

If these are your true sentiments, then I would advise that you prepare yourself for a long year. Mateer is not going to enroll at The University of Miami. With that being said, Im of the opinion that Air Noland will become an elite QB at the college level. I'm calling my shot. Only time will tell, but I can promise you that I'm not going to be on here crying when we go 8-5(at best) with Emory at the helm. The University of Miami's current roster isn't good enough to supplement Emory's deficiencies for 9 or 10 wins.

based on what?

Respectable response. I'm not a Luke Nickel enthusiast(based upon his film). He is serviceable, but his arm strength isn't there and his accuracy doesn't make up for it (in my opinion). Judd is a project, but based upon his high school tape he is a B(at best project). Coleman is two years removed so I doubt it affects him at all, but he is another project. Coleman does have good arm talent though, he is just really small(in terms of height and weight).
That serviceable QB just dominated the GA finals against a bunch of Div1 players. I think he had 1 incompletion on the night. LOL

He had a good performance and congrats to him on winning a state championship. My sentiments haven't changed. From a traits stand point he is serviceable. Can he improve? Yes, but the arm talent he lacks most likely wont improve drastically enough for him to become an elite level college QB. He is (at best)more mobile version of a Miller Moss.

Respectfully....I'm no longer responding to questions I've answered within previous responses. If you follow the thread you will see what I'm basing it on. If you don't have the cognitive faculties to determine the basis for my sentiments that's on you. Wether you agree or not is irrelevant. Time will be the only arbitrator in this matter. You are entitled to your opinion.

I'm hearing rumblings about Air Nolan across various social media sites in connection to Miami...wonder if this rumor has any teeth to it?
