I wouldn’t have had a problem with it if we proved we can make a single stop. The defense is so bad we all knew they had no chance to get the ball back.

This is why behind closed doors Oregon was happy to get rid of him and also why he got fired at FIU.

receivers yes, not a lot of dropped passes however run gam was weak and O line again lacked explosiveness

Normally that would have been the right call, factor in our DC is Guidry and our defense couldn't even stop Hollywood Hills HS, we probably would have been better off going for it. Kudos to George for doing what he does best again. We're ufcked if Mario doesn't fire Guidry in the offseason.

I thought it was the right call. Hindsight is 20/20. But you knew they would be running the ball, all we had to do was stop them from getting a 1st down but we couldn't even do that, and then Moten had his bonehead penalty.

With any halfway decent defense the FG was the correct call. Problem is, we obviously don’t have anything close to a halfway decent defense, even though I supported the call in the game day thread. I was wrong in retrospect. There is no such thing as rising to the occasion or “tightening up” when it comes to this defense. No doubt, one of the all-time worst, most underachieving defenses in UM history

I hoped we could possibly get lucky and Syracuse would go into a shell or we would get a freak pass deflection on D and be in position to win the game at the end.

Because either way, your defense has to go back out on the field. You need a stop on defense to win in that situation whether you kick the FG or get the TD regardless.
