I think Dmoney made it seem like this was the strategy. Go after less quantity but more quality.

You imagine getting Mateer and Brown? Offense would be just as fun (in a different way).

I'd go Stud QB, WR, and TWO CBs AND TWO S.... I'd bet cost of 1 stud DT would get us an additional CB and S.
Then we need Solid to Good rotational piece at DT AND EDGE.... And another S on top that hopefully has 2 yrs eligibility.

That's how I'd spend portal money. We have talent at DT in the young guys. Moten and Horton have experience now. Scott and Blount are highly paid 5 star guys. Jones had talent. Yes we still need a guy or two that we can feel comfortable getting snaps.. Lets just not get any more short Dts from the portal... Also I keep seeing @DMoney talking about portal LB. That to me would be insane use of money at this point. Maybe if Wes and Alderman leave and we put whatever we were spending on both them into one portal lb, but When the **** are we going to let these young guys we already are spending on step up?!

Unfortunately these WRs will not give us a look until the QB is in place. Mario needs to move on a QB fast and have him locked down within two weeks of the portal opening up

Gotta think Tenn is uniquely positioned to throw major bags on guys just like this, esp in Nico’s money year(s)

I would love to add as many good players as possible, but when I make comments like certain positions needing to grow up.

It's because of money. Trotter would cost money that can be allocated to elite players at other positions.

I'm tired of the Marley Cook, Dyoni Hill types. I want elite players. Even if it's just 4 or 5 in total. Pool all the money to get playmaker at positions where we are in dire need.

LB I think should be good, tho I don't dispute it can be better.

To add to this, I want elite players as well but I will settle for solid ones as well. We need to do better than what we have done in the portal. The 24 class was much much better but still some dead weight but 23 and 22 were laughable. Land the elite kids for sure but also avoid the garbage that has no business putting on a Miami uniform.
