Fire rumph.

such a terrible post.

cant judge that post till post signing day...

Another brilliant post. Let's ignore everything he has done the last two years and only focus on if Campbell comes. Great call.

LOL at the Rumph Rangers thinking this is ONLY about Campbell with Rumph.

Not a "Rumph Ranger" but the knee jerking twats on this board have been asking for Rumph's head if Campbell doesn't come. Why else would he be fired for? I am very pleased with how our Corners have played the past two seasons, and I don't believe they are nearly as talented (outside of Bandy) as the new CB's coming in. I am confident he will develop next wave of CB's to the next level. If Campbell joins us then look out.

Mike Rumph is one of the few truly elite DB coaches in the country.

What he has managed to do with what he has been given is nothing short of remarkable. He’s turned very mediocre talent into solid starters. He’s an excellent recruiter who’s put together one of the best DB classes this fine institution has ever seen, and there’s a swell chance he’s going to add another top prospect.

We are extremely fortunate to have Mike Rumph.

Lmao you are #1

Rumph is a good db and position coach, given who has to play with his cbs have been generally good outside of a couple games. Play will be even better when better talent come in. But come on man he’s not a better coach than Kool who is regarded as the top dline coach in the country

What has he had to work with?

He hasn’t had one top notch guy. Even as good as Elder was he was undersized.

Young is the closest thing to a prototypical CB he’s had to mold and he was a 3 star guy.

Thank you for the praise, friend.

I try my best to speak the truth.

Both Rumph and Kool are really good position coaches, whether they are good recruiters is still up for debate. If given the choice between a good recruiter/bad position coach and bad recruiter/good position coach, I'll take the bad recruiter/good position coach 10/10 times. Player development has been our greatest weakness in recent years. However, that means you need a great recruiter on staff. He can suck as a coach, but has to be a guy who can seal the deal. Richt appears to be filling that role right now (doesn't suck as a coach, which is a bonus). Richt has a track record of being a closer, so it gives me some confidence that he'll get Campbell in this class once he sits down in the living room with TC's family.

Miami's DBs play with better technique than Miami's DL and have achieved more relative to talent level.

Whether that means Rumph is a better coach than Kuligowski is up for debate.

they like to ignore what bad QBs did to our CBs the last 4 games of the season, not to mention his influence over all his former highschool players

You know **** well people aren’t upset with Rumph recruiting solely based on if he blows the Campbell layup.

Your troll schtick is awful. What has he had to work with? Last year’s entire secondary is cashing NFL checks right now.

Don't bother - it was such a poor attempt at trolling that nobody bothered engaging him. The Rumph fluffers will just make excuses up when there's nothing left to defend.

“The Campbell layup.”

You continue to one up yourself, old man.

Bama and Georgia are throwing hundreds of thousands of dollars at the kid and he should be considered a layup because Rumph coached him when he was 13?

If Rumph is able to land Campbell it will be an absolutely phenomenal job by him. The cherry on top to an amazing cycle for our best position coach.

Wasn't that reflected by the play on the field? I thought our pass defense was far superior last year to this year. Even though he was a flake it would have been nice to have a kid like BJ Hendo lining up on the outside and for whatever reason Rump didn't seal the deal with him

Rumph is responsible for the CB, not the S. That eliminates Carter and Jenkins.

Elder was a great player, but he is undersized, which is why he wasn’t drafted until very late. Colbert had to make the transition to safety in the league, an indication that he wasn’t talented enough to play CB despite him being a solid starter here at that spot solely thanks to the teachings of Coach Rumph.

C’mon.

I thought you were a “Living Legend”? That’s the best insult you could come up with?

Living Legend losing his luster.

brock & TheJet305, under no circumstances is it justifiable to upvote this skinny-jeans-wearing, grandma's-basement-dwelling, choad-sniffing bridge troll. Please resist the urge to engage.

Edit: I see the band has gotten back together. Great start to the year!
