Will 8-4 in 2014 bring you on board with Golden?

Buddy, get back in the Delorean and PLEASE come back to the year 2014. This is not 2003 anymore. (Where we broke in a virtually new QB in Brock Berlin but surrounded him with **** near 10-15 first round draft picks on that team alone) I swear some of yall are stuck in the past. IF we had FSUs talent (where most NFL Draft sites have them putting 6 guys in the 1st round) then yeah maybe we could trot ole' Kevin out there and win 10 games. But we dont. We barely have 1 first rounder. We are not there yet. We will be soon. But next year is a No. Lets just pray we win the ACC coastal and go from there..

There's a large portion of this fan base that are mentally trapped in 2001. It is what it is.

To go out there and expect Kevin Olsen to win you 10 games is setting yourself up for a huge letdown. Now winning the ACC Coastal shouldnt be an issue. But winning 10 regular season games with the schedule we have and an unproven QB with ZERO game experience is really just being delusional.
So now we can't expect a redshirt freshman that was highly rated in high school to deliver a 10 win season when we play in the worst division? Lulz

You can expect him to. Maybe he is the second coming of Famous Rapist, or the second coming of Johnny Foosball. I'll take it if it happens. Question is, probability that it happens?

Nah......just simply the second coming of Riley Skinner-

Yep, in 2006, even a RSFR QB won the ACC at WAKE FKING FOREST...and he wasn't even drafted by the NFL.

LMAO! MAJOR REACH here..Did you see Wake Forest schedule that year???? Brad Kaaya could have won 10 games with that schedule..Do some more research buddy..

LOL, ok. So know because of what Riley did, KO should be able to do the same?

This year, we SHOULD be able to win 8 games. Only thing that we really need to see, is improvement in key areas like coming out to play every team the same. Last season, we had those games where we came out flat and either loss or almost loss. (UNC, VA, VT, Wake, Duke) I want to see us come out against a team like UVA and dominate from start to finish.

Also, we should have NO embarrassing losses. FSU is good, and I did not factor us winning that game, but we should not getting blown out. We have alot of talent and just the shear way we ran the ball in the beginning before Duke went out, was great for us. VT, that was due to coming out flat, not sure why, but it was.

I'm as big a golden believer as you'll find on this board. But i truly believe he has the talent this year.

8-4 and ill join the rest of you with the bashing.

Do we have the QB? I don't think so. With Ryan i was a bit more confident.. but if Baby Jesus doesn't play like we need him too, it's going to be a rough season offensively. Add to that that i have minimal confidence in Coley's skills as a play caller, and i think we're going to need baby jesus to be just that.

This'll be his 4th year here. If you can't find a QB in that time then that's your own ****ing fault.

I'm just shooting from the hip here, but maybe that was what they were expecting from Ryan Williams.
How were you more confident with Ryan Williams starting when Golden would not start him over a one legged erratic Morris? How can you be confident in a QB that Golden clearly didn't deem good enough to start over his injured inconsistent QB?

more confident in him vs. the option os a RS Freshman...

we dont need a top 10 qb, and i think we have enough options that we should be able to find one that can act as a game manager. thats all you need with the weapons you have at reciever and in the backfield.

I also think the defense will be much improved, there is no excuse for this defense not to be top-50. We now have 4-stars at most positions with at least a yr experience.

That is a bull**** comment. We aren't stuck anywhere. We know where this program should be. It's the posters as yourself that settle for mediocrity. Sad thing here is we aren't even calling for NC's, we just want to win the Coastal this year and should. My how our fan base has become pussified.

It isn't. People are delusional about where they want this program to be and in what timeframe, the current state of college football and the financial resources of the university. It's why the cries of "BRING BACK BUTCH" echo through this fanbase like the ******* ghost of Christmas past.

Stay delusional though.

Lulz @ 2 losses. So Golden would beat 3 ACC teams with 9 wins or more and FSU? Said no man ever...It hasn't happened.

Thier only losses were against:
#3 Louisville 12-1
#18 Virginia Tech 10-3
Clemson 8-5

My research shows that you're FOS.

What if we go 8-4, but our defense finishes in the top 50 at the end of the year?

What then?

Probably not. But what if we go 8-4 with a top 25 defense and Ridley, SBB, Irvin, and Johnson all committed, then what?

But what if we go 8-4 with a top 15 defense and Ridley, SBB, Irvin, and Johnson all commit....AND we move into the Beckham stadiun which seats 45K, then what?

Four years in and the expectation to win a ****** conference with one of the more talented teams in the ACC is delusional?

I guess Golden needs 40 years to find his players.

Another great porst from one of the softest fans on this board.

Four years in and the expectation to win a ****ty conference with one of the more talented teams in the ACC is delusional.

I guess Golden needs 40 years to find his players.

Four years into a job which was left in ruins by his predecessor and was under the cloud of an NCAA scandal for the better part of 3 years.

But yeah, rainbows and sunshine.

Go fire up that 30 for 30 VHS bro and have yourself an afternoon.

That sums it up for our "recent" fan base.

Only because you fail to see the entire picture.. If Golden had stepped into a better situation, I would be on board with the " WIN OR GTFO" crowd.. But I like to be logical, Golden stepped into a dumpster, made worse by the surprise of the Shapiro thing.. that's why Al's seat isn't worm, and the people tasked with making these decisions aren't in some rush to boot him..

I can't judge strictly on the W-L record alone. 9-4 in 2013 looks okay on paper, but it was the ugliest 9-4 I could imagine. The second half of the season was pure trash. We could go 9-4 again this year and look completely different. I'll consider it all after the season.
Yup that's why I don't get caught up in the record. QB is a huge concern but this is Goldens first season with his talent in the upper class. I think we almost forget what's it's like when real talent progresses to their junior and senior seasons. This will be by far the most talented team we have fielded, and they better pass the eye test. Stats and all that other stuff are ok, but we will be able to just watch and see IMO

Did Morris win us any games by himself last year?

Did we lose that much when he left? Even if RW was not injured and going to start in 2014, we still have an unknown at QB.

On defense, we have older, more mature and experienced players. For better or worse, we didn't lose any staff members. Duke Johnson will be healthy to start 2014 as well.

We will see what all this means in 2014.

I'm definitely in agreement with you. I think Morris was really held back by the injury last year, but face facts, he wasn't very good at reading defenses consistently. He certainly isn't irreplaceable. But if we are talking about replacing his production, then we are basing it purely on hope since we have nothing really to go on. That's all I meant.

Of all the complete horse**** you post, this has to be one of the dumbest. Our fanbase has mostly accepted our position on the totem pole. Is it too much to ask to win the Coastal?

Get the **** out of my sight.

Actually what's sad is people like you using the viewpoints of a few mongoloids to support your case. Let me know if you ever want to take a step up.

I'm comfortable in being realistic about this team and the program at the moment.

Does stepping up include delusions of grandeur and SWAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG?

You have as much to stand on as you did with your Denzel Perryman/Earl Thomas angle. Pathetically weak. You must be used to dealing with really stupid people all day long to think this embarrassing attempt at misdirection would work on anyone above a hamsters intelligence.

I will give you some time to regroup and read a book or something. I'm fair. Whatever you need.
