Will 8-4 in 2014 bring you on board with Golden?

8-4 means no coastal title which means major fail. Win the Coastal or find a new job.

I don't see how some of you guys just act like it's his 4th yr and nothing more. It's actually his 1st yr of no BS. Golden did a masterful job navigating is through Nevingate! The NCAA just allowed him the chance to really just be a coach. He will not be fired just bc of that alone. Now, I'm not sure why most think UL is a sure loss. Strong isn't coaching that D, and they're breaking in an unproven QB as well... But they don't have a Duke, a Stacy, or a Dorsett gamebreaker on their team. Oh yeah before it comes, Petrino can't make plays. Now, we lost to Duke and VT who is also breaking in a new unproven QB last yr, with Duke and Dorsett watching... Two of our most important players on O! They're both back healthy and older, so is Gus and Tucker who didn't even play last yr. He gives us a totally different dimension that was missing last yr. Now I know we will have a young QB this yr, but we had QB play last yr that was probably worse than a RS Freshman play at a lot of times. D will be light yrs better and so will special teams. If we improve in two facets on our team other than O, were the star power is, how can we not be a better team? I doubt we lose to UNC at home or GT, btw, who is GTs QB? Duke was a fluke, we will slaughter them at home and healthy... Golden and the staff are only improving, there's no need to wish for change when improvements are made. Why can't we be excited about a SR named DP? Why can't we be excited about Jrs named Duke, TH3, Bush, McCord, Ray Jenkins, Flowers, Crawford, Crawford, and Kirby? We have Scott and Dorsett as Sr wrs and we also have a RS Soph named Herb! This team has grown up through fire, and we will reap all the fruits of seeds planted through Nevingate and no depth left by the last coaching staff! Go Canes!!

when KlanAlmighty and niner are the only idiots that agree with you, thats when you know that you are a complete idiot

I'm not betting 10 regular season wins bc injuries change everything. I believe this team is good enough to win 10 easily and that's not counting the bowl game. This schedule is a good one, but last season our schedule was supposed to be tough too. We were 7-0 and played the Natl Champs tough for 3 qtrs... We loss big time players to injuries and we paid for lack of depth. I don't feel like depth is a major issue this yr like it was last yr. We'll be smarter, stronger, and playing faster, that alone makes this team better.

I'm on board with Golden now. If we go 8-4, I'm looking for somewhere to jump off. We're breaking in a very green QB, but the offense around him is where you want it to be for a young QB, solid OL, all american type RB and a talented and explosive group of WRs. Our defense has more talent (with experience) and depth than we've had the last couple years, and our return game should get us some decent field position. No reason why we don't win 10 this year.

What???? Last year was the easiest schedule we've seen in a long time. We played 1 good OOC in Florida (who's offense is trash) and we played 1-2 good teams in conference. FSU was good. Duke was borderline good. VT (barely beat Marshall), UNC, GT, WF, UVA, and Pitt were all crap. Louisville was a bowl game which we didn't have the previous 2 seasons and if we did, it would have just made those schedules harder.
