All my stop losses got taken out by that chart somewhere around the 2012 UVA game. Hoping for a dead cat bounce in 2014.
 
OK, you want to blame the entire debacle on the defensive front? (which is totally BS)

It is Golden's responsibility to bring in guys to do better.

Instead he hasn't brought in anybody to beat out Shayon Green, and these are the DT's he's brought in from HS/Prep in his 3 years here:

Jalen Grimble
Olsen Pierre
Corey King
Jacoby Briscoe
Dequan Ivery
Earl Moore

And of course, NONE in 2013.


lrg, you're a ******* joke. You criticized Shannon with impunity, and much of it was complete nonsense at the time (remember you "intend to score" comment?) Yet Golden is basically doing the same **** as Shannon except Randy's fourth year squad was much, much more talented than Golden's and at least was competent on both sides of the ball, and you excuse defenses ranked in the 90's and 100's because Golden is incapable of recruiting defensive linemen.

i was thinking the same thing when listening to WQAM. that spiel was a tailor-made response for the questions he anticipated would be asked about the defense.

LOL!!! And he had nothing to deal with in trying to bring in better people to replace these guys. None of the NCAA mess mattered and none of the other coaches were telling kids we were going to get the death penalty or that they would never play in a bowl game while they were at Miami. Look at this years class and see what the difference is recruiting on a semi-level field with the other teams. The only thing he really has to fight now is the constant negativity of the "fans."

What the **** are you talking about? All the best players in this class were committed before the sanctions were announced. They committed as "the cloud" still swirled around UM.
 
I just don't see how this defense is ever going to be elite.

Even when they had some NFL talent at Temple, the highest they ever reached was 16th in the nation, and they got mollywhopped against anybody with a pulse if I remember correctly.

Does anybody honestly think that some infused talent is gonna have us improve from 90th to top-10? That's a massive jump.

Sure, we're missing some talent, but any good DC would probably have this unit somewhere in the middle of the pack. (not in the 80's-100's)

We thought the 2010 defense was bad and they were ranked like 50 spots ahead of our current unit. What is D'Onofrio's unit ranked if he has the 2010 kids?

the funny thing about these mofos blaming the offense...all throughout Shannons tenure our offense was pathetic and TO prone. Remeber we couldnt Move the ball against Wissy in that bowl game same place there in Orlando and we still held them to 20pts and could have won it at the end. Keep making excuses brah

lol. Where's the DT's this year, then? He's bringing in ONE HS DT. He can't recruit for ****. It's okay to admit that Golden failed at bringing in DT's without making the same lame excuses for him. These coach worshipping people basically claim that their hero is infallible.
