The defense's job isn't just to stop the other team from scoring but it's also to stop them from moving the ball so you can get it back and score. YPG literally tells you how well your defense is doing that lol. Leave it to lrg the racist to actually try something like that. Guy is pathtic.

It also gives your offense good field position to score more points. This is football 101 that Golden and Dorito should know. Yet somehow they believe allowing an offense into your redzone on every drive is smart football

we just like to complain.. is the defense where it needs to be? no. was it improved over last year? yes. Did i think the defense played well early in the bowl game? yes. but they couldn't hold up for 4 quarters, especially with how bad the offense was.

How did the defense improve?

were we not better in a majority of statistical categories? If so, that's an improvement. People seem to forget that golden and Donof put out a solid defense their first year here when our defense had better, more mature players than we've had the past two seasons... that's probably not coincidental.

It wasn't a solid defense, it was OK/mediocre at best. It was the worst defense we put out in last 10+ years going into the 2010 season.

It looks like you missed the point I was making. More yardage = more points. Don't know why that was tough to figure out but it is what it is I guess.

i'm not even sure how race came into this.. games are not won by total yardage.. so when talking defensive ranks, I want to hear about our scoring defense, which i haven't once implied is good or great, just more valuable than ypg.

As an example.. new england is ranked 10th in scoring D and 26th in ypg... i would tell you that the 10th in scoring is more important than the 26th in yards when it comes to winning games.. if you want to disagree, you're allowed to, but you'd be wrong.
