Uniforms

Anyone who complains about this should **** themselves in the face. The kids and recruits are going bonkers.

Because recruits hate traditional uniforms, which is why you see Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Michigan, USC, Ohio State and LSU drastically changing their uniforms...wait....what? Recruits care about winning, not the uniforms. Sure, recruits like it, but they're not going to chose Miami over Alabama or Auburn because of these uniforms.
Stop it with your facts and logic.

Such a tired argument and asinine as well. Miami has always been different. We aren't a traditional power. In fact we're supposed to hate the blue bloods. Not try to be like them. It really is amazing all these Miami fans who were apart of the revolution that was this program now want to be seated at the same table with people we're supposed to despise.

Why don't you commission someone to make our very own version of "Touchdown Jesus" on campus while you're at it?

Miami isn't supposed to look traditional. Wake up. And stop using Ohio State(you really should be flogged for comparing us to them). Go look at what they've worn the last 3-4 years. They change it up all the time. I believe they might have a permanent non-traditional "rivalry" jersey they wear at home. They even brought out a road version of it against Michigan. They wore the home one against Clemson in bowl game as well.

Huh? That picture you posted is a MINOR tweak of the same uniform Ohio State has worn for 50 years. As to the other part, you're probably one of those fans that hates marching bands and loves horrible rap music pipped into the stadium. This is college football, not the NFL. College football is all about tradition.

Any Ohio State fan would say those are major tweaks. Black facemasks. Green Buckeyes stickers. Big gray numbers. Giant wide stripe on the helmet.

Miami Hurricanes football isn't about tradition. Mothafluckers forgot all about what we were about. The players and the fans thought all that stuff was dumb. You were in the middle of it and didn't even understand it. Our mascot walked around with fatigues and a toy automatic gun and you're talking to me about tradition. Absolutely dumbfounding.

i get what people are saying with miami being anti establishment and all but still, once a teams forges an identity and a respectable tradition the way miami did starting back in the early 80's shouldnt a team try to hold on to some part of that identity? they took an iconic white helmet and put scribbles and glitter all over it

the way some of you talk you are so anti tradition you wouldnt mind pink unis and zebra print, you have to draw the line somewhere, stand for something

As an option.

White/Green/Orange --- all everyone was *****ing about. Plus black shoes/socks. Plus a few modern options. THE HORROR!!!!!

I still can't believe someone thought it was a good idea to incorporate the clam into the design.

The Ibis logo has long been an important part of the university's heritage. The existing Miami ibis logo captures the essence of the bird, the storm and the speed of Miami Football.

My only small complaint is the green on the shoulder of the orange jerseys. Those jerseys would look better all orange.

Thank you! First person I read who thought the same thing I did. I liked the green the least of all of them because of that.

***. Nike tried to put that on the helmet in 2000, but the school said no. Instead it was plastered onto the pants and on the coaches gear for polos and jackets. It was an alternate logo for the hats on the baseball team for a while, and was our official logo on the ncaa video games until about 2005. It was de-emphasized by the school because everyone hated it. A small clam on the pants was all that remained. Now it's everywhere. The only thing being #renewed by the school is that awful ******* clam.

i though they looked good in person. hopefully we win in them. honestly, if we win wearing garbage bags, i'll buy them.

You're a tool and have no idea what you're talking about. The klam has been a disaster since 2000. We get it, you have no mind of your own and support anything and everything the school does.

The "outrage" is actually comical to me, but I can absolutely appreciate your intensity regarding the issue. It just doesn't offend me as much as it does others.

Great overreaction. Yep. Everyone that likes elements of the uniforms is a slave to the school.

The response was from the website explaining the Ibis logo --- one group's interpretation of why they used it. http://hurricanesports.com/fls/28700/renewedidentity/

Hurricane sports has some good pics and combos... Honestly, these jerseys are growing on me quick. They'll look pretty sweet on game days... Though I would love to see the orange jersey without the green trim on the sleeve. That'd be pretty sick and a bit more traditional

PS -- to all the mopes, 2001 jerseys were absolutely hideous.

The all orange with the old helmet looks good

****ing clam. Worse than I originally thought. I didn't think the Unathletic Department was capable of such ******ry. Their awfulness knows no bounds.

No, anyone that supports the Klam is a slave to the school, as you put it. What a joke. Now, give me the old Sebastian logo, like my avatar and that is fire! The AD is run by a bunch of morons if they think that of that Klam. I hated it when I was 18 and I hate it now at 31.

Stop being delusional. At what point do you think a bird smoking a pipe is gonna make its way on to any Miami uniform in your lifetime?

They wanted to keep the helmet everyone likes and then add a few options. You think that your avatar on the helmet would look good. Others may think it looks old, lazy and tired and like an out of place throwback.

You don't have to like the clam.

What if Sebastion were smoking an e-pipe? Would that bridge the gap and make it more politically correct? Seriously, I grew up with Sebastion and the pipe, but that ain't happening in this PC day and age. I would love to see it but it's not happening.

I still say having the hurricane warning flags in silhouette would've looked cool.

The thing that bothers me about the Klam is that the fans already revolted against it ten years ago. Why is it back? It's like Coke bringing back new Coke
