UM AD Blake "I evaluate our Head Coach" Al Golden not his DC

The right guy was out there this offseason...while the underqualified fat guy was begging for the Penn State job behind closed doors.

Instead...Petrino goes to a conference rival and we're stuck waiting for the fat guy to get fired and then wait at the mercy of this inept administration to see who they handpick next.

It's pretty **** depressing how far this program has fallen.

zzzzzzzzzz.....2 more years so SUCK on that mofos. Such is life at the U.

I remember arguing with a guy named "jaxcane" or something when he made these snide arrogant digs at fans who wanted Retardo gone. He was so certain Randy had a free pass b/c "donna loves him". And in the end, he was wrong, and the affirmative action hero got ****canned.

The same thing will happen to Al if the team goes 7-6, b/c at the end of the day, the program becomes such a cesspool of negativity that the only choice is to fire the coach.

One thing is for certain. If Al wins only 7 games in the regular season this year, and DOESNT get fired, I will be the FIRST ONE to claim the admin is racist. Randy Shannon, the worst corch in modern college history, was deservedly fired for going a disappointing 9-4 with a bowl embarassment followed by an epic fail 7 win season. If Al Golden isn't fired under the same circumstances, the administration will and take heat for clearly being biased towards the smooth talking white guy.

I would think a bleeding heart carpet eater like Donna would rather fire Al Golden than become the epicenter of a racial controversy. If AG wins 7 this year, he will be gone. The PR component would be enough to get them to pull the trigger.

I am so sick and tired of this amateur hour hiring by the supposed 'bright' people in the Administrations.

For God's sake, when we get rid of this current amateur, get a proven program builder, a proven 305 recruiter, a proven talent evaluator, and a proven Head Coach with the nuances characteristic of the 305.

Get Butch!

And quit sihtting the bed on these hires!

How do you evaluate 500 yards per game? Losing to Duke? Losing the Coastal yet again? I guess it's time to evaluate the head coach, then.

I love Butch.. but you don't have the patience to see through a rebuilding job done by Butch.
He had a losing season, Had embarrassing losses to SU 66-13 and ECU. Was 0-10 vs FSU and VT at one point. Many of the losses were blowouts. And he had really no track record to speak of to point that indicated that he was the man for the job to get the program back. None.
Finally after 5 years he had his break out year his 6th.
So you impatient mopers out of all people should cease the "we want Butch" cry.

Because supporting someone who isn't succeeding as the football coach at UM is a better alternative?

The *****ing is a reflection of the current state of the program. This site wasn't conceived to be some sort of beacon of positivity for the head coach. I guess some slurpers just have a difficult time handling those who are critical.

I'm sorry but we never loss as bad when we had randy. Maybe 2 or 3 bad losses. Randy also played a tougher schedule and beat good teams and was competitive in most games. Defense was consistently a top 15-20 defense...... He also had multiple players go to the nfl on d EVERY YEAR. With golden we have had more than 7 bad losses.... Duke 13, va tech 13,fsu 13, louisville 13, Ksu 12,Nd 12,fsu 12, Maryland 11, and many more but I don't have time to name them. Golden better quit playing mind games, this sh^t ain't working. I'm tired of this fu^king 2 gap defense, it doesn't work at all. Quit doing it. O_o

In all fairness, the roster left behind by Randy was an absolute sht show. While he was competing and had a couple more decent wins, he was setting HIMSELF up for future failures by the recruiting job he was doing.

Everybody agrees 7-6 would be awful. But I still don't understand why so many people are PREDICTING 6-7 wins. We won 9 last year and the roster got better. I expect 10 wins.

Look at our defensive line. The talent isn't there. It's going to hurt us badly next year and the entire defense will suffer as a result.

QB is a looming question. What is it with some of you guys thinking Ryan Williams is going to step in and be some elite game-manger type QB? IMO, he's not a Miami-caliber QB. Morris was underwhelming last year, but we're not going to improve at this position is RW is the starter all year.

I'd also feel better at RB if Duke and Yearby weren't coming off serious ankle injuries. We're screwed if those two are sidelined again, regardless as to how optimistic everyone seems to be regarding Crawford and Edwards.

Moreover, our schedule is exponentially more difficult. I love how everyone talks about the Louisville game and how we'll set the tone right for the season. "But Teddy is gone. But Petrino doesn't have anything to work with." Any innovative offensive mind like him must be salivating at the idea of coaching against a Mark D'Onofrio-led defense.

We can't use the "we have more talent" than other teams excuse because we're undercoached. We fail to win the big games and struggle against mediocrity.

I concede I tend to view this staff from a glass-half-empty perspective, but some of you have serious issues in blind faith if you expect 10 wins.

Butch also had quality wins along the way like beating #1 ucla. He beat a star laden Syracuse team etc etc. those were the flashes he showed despite -31 ships. Golden has done nothin of the sort which is why the comparison is dumb.

I think mostly everybody is of the mindset that a lot of experience is being lost and to expect true freshmen to come in replace redshirt seniors immediately is a tall order. We did win 9 games last year and the talent did get better, but the schedule got significantly harder. Unproven guys like Williams at the most important position and the fact that guys are returning from injury leave a lot of question marks. Couple that with a defensive line that will likely remain just as poor in a scheme that does not play to their strengths, that will keep the defense in an awful state. Lastly, a bad loss to Louisville (very possible.) and later a bad loss to Nebraska (also very possible.) to start the season at 2-2 could get the team to quit, as we've seen before. What 10 games do you see us winning?

If you look at the Information objectively then you will see that Golden is worse than Shannon. No hard feelings....that's just what the info says. No quality wins, produced 2 of the worse defenses in Miami history etc.

I don't think the line is any worse than it was. Definitely not losing any sleep over the losses of Robinson, Porter, Green and Renfrow. More than happy to take my chances with Wyche, Heurtelou, Hamilton, Thomas and Moten instead of those guys. The way I view it we fold bad cards and get dealt a new hand. Maybe it's just as bad, but maybe it gets better.

I don't have particularly high expectations for Williams, but I also have a low opinion of how Morris performed last season. So I don't see the QB position as a big downgrade.

By all accounts Yearby and Duke are recovering fine and will be good to go. Even in the unlikely event that they are BOTH injured again halfway through the season, it's not like that puts us in any different position than we were in this year. Except that this time around our backups have an extra year of experience.

Maybe the schedule is slightly more difficult. But exponentially? That's an exaggeration. I'm not shaking in my boots at the thought of playing Nebraska. And yeah, catching Louisville in their first game the year he tries to completely revamp their entire philosophy is a big break for us.

All things being equal to last year (similar injuries, etc), I don't expect us to perform any worse, and there is upside potential to get better. 9-10 wins.

Not expecting freshmen to replace redshirt seniors. For every Jimmy Gaines that's leaving, we have a Jermaine Grace or Raphael Kirby waiting who is more talented and has been learning the system.

Shannon and Golden did not start on equal ground, if you look at the information objectively.
