More excuses from all involved, and predictably, the uneducated fans eat it up like a hot load of **** off a plate.

The morons desperately grasping to Golden will be standing around with their mouth's wide open as this season crumbles, the same way they did with Coker and Shannon, wondering where it all went wrong. You'd think they would have learned a lesson from the last two coaches that a problem exists when you have more excuses than quality wins, but these are not smart individuals we are discussing; they never learn. The columns will crack, the walls will disintegrate, until all that will be left around Golden is rubble. Nowhere to hide. No excuses left to make. No hashtags left to tweet... No clouds in the sky. Just his performance.

For the few remaining dimwits, until we finally reach rock bottom, they'll continue failing to see what's in front of them, instead choosing to anxiously scarf down the litany of excuses and clichés being thrown at them by anyone inside the Hecht like a good group of sheep. Sadly, these excuses are nothing more than life rafts attached to a sinking ship.

So, rest in peace to the loyal idiots going down with this vessel. So simple and stupid you fall for anything and can't think logically -- letting a fat hack in a sausage casing he passes off as a blazer captivate you with waves of bull**** and excuses. Luckily, things won't be all bad, because even after our team sinks this season, you still have that million dollars coming to you from the prince in Nlgeria you allowed to use your bank account, you gullible dipshlts.

idk what information or factors were missing on when were fielding back to back WOAT defenses in cane history?

this will be the 4th year with golden and doritos D if we aren't at least top 40 and actually look like we have a pulse on D golden is sealing his own fate to lose his career with his dumbo butt buddy

the biggest factor is that having the U on the side of the helmet doesn't automatically make your more talented/better than what you are.. randy crushed it with a bunch of 2-3 star guys.. and then we're wondering why we're terrible when our seniors and juniors on D were 2-3 star dudes and some guys al golden was able to cobble together in a few weeks when he got the job.

Dude that was 1 class in a down year when Shannon was already on his way out the door and the crappy class got even crappier.

Prior to that, 2007 19th (the year he started as HC), 2008 5th, 2009 15th, 2010 16th, 2011 (the year he left) 36th. That last class was mostly a 3 star class, but Al has proven he obviously can't develop those 3 stars into anything while the teams around him are doing just fine with a bunch of 3 stars. I guess we're going to need a full class of 5 star recruits before we can hope to not be an embarrassment on the field based on these people's logic.

BTW just for continuation. 2012 9th, 2013 20th. Look at those recruiting classes. Only 1 bad recruiting class which still puts us above or on par with the guys we are looking like a joke against like VT, UNC, WF and Duke.

The very fact that he had to address this, (his boulschitt aside) tells me that the HEAT IS ON!

The Administration is feeling the heat, the AD is feeling the heat, Golden is feeling the heat, and that damned D'Buttsquirt is feeling the heat.

And if they think it's hot now? Does anyone really think Petrino is going to do poorly against D'Buttsquirt?

This.

The dreaded "public vote of confidence." if Golden doesnt deliver this year, he's in trouble.

The University of Miami just had two of the worst Defenses in SCHOOL HISTORY in 2012 and 2013 but the fans lack perspective? Unreal.

And so rules the University of Miami Athletic Director Blake, as Miami's Defense is ranked 89th in total defense in 2013.

Yet, Warren Sapp has made his feelings about Miami defensive coordinator Mark D’Onofrio very clear:

"Don't talk to me about Al Golden and whatever that D-coordinator's name is," Sapp said, according to the NFL.com. "Al Golden, let me tell you what I've learned in the 19 years of being around the NFL ... you don't ever hire someone that you can't fire. That's the golden rule. The D-coordinator is killing my school. That looks like no Miami defense in the history of our school, even when [Howard] Schnellenberger was getting it started!"

Miami ranked 89th in total defense in 2013.While Sapp has no problem weighing in on the Miami staff, athletic director Blake James said on Monday that he’s fully confident in Golden and the current staff. James said it’s Golden’s job to evaluate the staff -- not his -- and he is not questioning Golden’s decision to retain D’Onofrio in spite of criticism after a season in which the defense finished No. 65 in the country in scoring defense and No. 89 in total defense.

“I evaluate our head coaches,” James said in a recent interview with ESPN.com. “I don’t think it’s the position for me to do anything other than evaluate Al. Al’s got to evaluate what’s best for him, and in our conversation he has full confidence of the staff we have in place and fully understands what we need to accomplish going forward. He had my full support, he has the full support of our president and board, and fans are always going to question things. A lot of times they don’t necessarily have all of the information and don’t consider all of the factors that go into challenges or when things aren’t going as you’d like them to go.

Miami lost four of its last six games in 2013 and allowed at least 41 points in each of those losses with the exception being a 36-9 loss to Louisville in the Russell Athletic Bowl. Some have questioned whether Golden’s friendship with D’Onofrio has impeded Golden’s perspective, but James said he still believes in his head coach’s vision for the program.

“I’m fully confident we’re going to be a lot better,” James said. “I believe in Al’s vision and I believe given the talent that we have in this area, and given the cloud of the NCAA investigation and the unknowns of it are gone now, just knowing the class we signed this year, but as importantly knowing the individuals that we were in conversation with that had interest in the University of Miami -- now maybe they all didn’t pick the University of Miami -- but I’m confident we’re going to see great young men come into this program and help us in our rebuilding process.”

“You have to look at the plan that’s in place and how that plan is being executed, and if you believe in that plan and that person that’s doing it, you’re fully committed,” James said. “That’s where I am with Al. That’s where we are as an institution with Al, and that’s where Al is with his program. There aren’t any questions here.”
like i said, our fans lack perspective.

What perspective is that? True, everyone doesn't know what goes on behind the scenes but everyone has access to games rather it be in person or tv. What is seen on tv is some of the worse coaching I've ever seen at Miami...**** cfb period. Goldens coaching, not what went on on non game days, have directly resulted in some bad losses. That we do know.

Whatever it is that golden does behind the scenes culminates on game days. Needless to to say the end product has been flat trash.

It's true I don't have all the information, but I'm absolutely positive that the Yugo was a real piece of siht.

The only thing you can really take from that politically correct, corporate BS speech Blake just gave is that the heat is on.

That's all I can ask for at this point with such an inept and clueless administration. The heat led to Shannon being fired....and we're already heading down that same path with the 2 idiots from Temple.

Blake don't need to worry about Golden's staff. Golden put the bulls eye on his chest when he decided to not make any changes. If the issues ain't resolved. He will be gone soon enough

All the chips are on the table this year. Al needs to put up or start firing underachieving staff. D line and DC are the weaknesses that need to do a 180 this year, or heads must roll.

Take a look at our depth chart. How can anyone argue that the defensive line is going to do a 180.

The talent isn't there and we don't have the quality coaching to make up for deficiencies in talent. Recruiting the DLine, as a whole, has been abysmal, and we're going to feel the repercussions again next season.

They really think we're idiots that don't know anything.

At over 15000 posts, you have spent the amount of time on message boards necessary to conclude that there are countless examples on these boards alone proving that they are justified in thinking at least a portion of our fan base lacks intelligent thought processes.

Remember the let's email Blake James and complain campaign?

I would imagine complaints sent referencing the NCAA investigation as a fictional cloud or UTough as a sleight of hand PR Fraud campaign are probably considered "lacking perspective".

Much ado about nothing. Relax. There are plenty of other things to be rustled about.

I can see where sometimes it gets difficult firing a head coach what with the fallout that happens afterwards.

But for ***** sake, we are talking about a defensive coordinator. Thats the **** that really aggravates me. One year can completely change everything. Yes you can hire a Gus Malzahn once in a while and it works out perfectly but ****, bring in a new DC with a simplified scheme and we could see instant results that completely changes the fortunes of the team this year.

****.

Well, James has one thing right. It's on Golden. If there is one thing we have learned in the past, it's usually the guys under the head guy that get thrown under the bus, yet it's really the head coach that's the problem. Guys like CJ, Todd Berry, Werner have all been very successful at other schools and in greater roles. This is ALL on Al Golden. This is HIS defense. He may not call the plays, but this is HIS defense.

I particularly don't like his statement but i do understand his angle. He is a fair AD thats not going to pressure his head coach to do any changes he doesnt want to do. Most AD for example Texas Longhorns fired thier DC in the first couple games. im sure Mack Brown didn't want to do that but the AD put the hammer down. James should be more involved in this process because its his butt too on the line. Football is everything to UM , even though basketball had it success when we were down now that we rising again basketball is failing
