All my faves are coming out of the sewer this holiday season.
IMO most of these kids no where they are going. It's not much a staff can do to sway them one way or another... maybe for that recruit on the fence.. but for the most part these kids ate going where they want.. For the schools that were recruiting Shaq... they didn't fail... Shaq went where he wanted to go

Really? So whats this recruiting thing they keep talking about?
We should just wait for the players to call us requesting a LOI
If we lose Campbell & Jobe to Bama that’s pretty sad.

Most idiots on this board think recruiting is like a NCAA video game.

Yeah because every situation is just like Shaq’s.
There’s a reason a dude like Dameyune Craig gets paid $650k per year and doesn’t even have a position to coach.
Recruiting matters. A lot.

Boy.. some message will be sent if we lose out on Campbell and Surtain, while stuck with Bethel of all people.
We could of really sent a message going after Wilson and Samuels earlier. You know, guys who were actually considered the best cover corner in south Florida.

To be fair I think it varies from kid to kid. Some kids have a favorite early on and it's virtually impossible for even the best salesman to change their mind. Other kids are very easily swayed by recruiting pitches. Most kids are probably somewhere in between.
I do think that having personable dynamic coaches can make a difference on the margin. there's that expression "he could sell ice to an Eskimo" and I think it's legit. Some people are just good at selling.

So...if we get Campbell + what we have already signed already what's the message we sent?
How would you grade that DB class?

You're constant negativity is infuriating

I'm just saying....
We keep talking about a message being sent but what kind of message are we really sending when we're recruiting rotational players.. How do you recruit Blades but not Samuels? How do you recruit mutha ****ing Bethel but not Wilson? It not that we're recruiting them and losing like in the Hobe, Thornton situation.. we not even offering or battling an eye to them when they're considered the best players at their position down here.
We're passing up on elite CB for their backups at the SAME position.
Need that AH weekend on the 26th to be his last OV
Need better closers if we need hocus pocus to sign this guy. He should be a layup.
why should it be a lay-up if the kid wants to leave the area. this is not like we about to loose him to fsu or florida. this kid has alabama, clemson and ohio state on his list. our coaches have recruited the crap out of this young man, to include offer chatfield! Hopefully the hold-up with him and nesta is that they are helping with the recruitment. We are also told by one of the posters that he is um. I would sit back and let this play out. Richt and staff is in another planet vs. the cats we had here the past 3 staffs, not even close!!! We flip our #1 lb target from fsu, who is desperate for lb's and we loose a cb that was a 2nd or 3rd option for us. Our fans should sit back and let this play out.
It should be a layup for a million reasons already discussed ad nauseum on here. Quit enabling losing behavior, chappy. We lose this dude, and it goes down as one of the all-time epic recruiting fails.
Your post is funny!!! Keep doing you and what allows you to sleep at night! Epic failures is what the previous staffs did, not even recruit a kid like this!
