Tyson Campbell | CB, 6-3, 181, Plantation, Fla./American Heritage, ESPN 300 No. 11
Schools in the mix: Miami, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State
Campbell will be a signing-day decision, with the hometown Hurricanes having surged during the season. Now Miami will spend January trying to fend off Nick Saban, Kirby Smart and Urban Meyer with official visits to all three schools expected next month.

Need that AH weekend on the 26th to be his last OV

Need better closers if we need hocus pocus to sign this guy. He should be a layup.

why should it be a lay-up if the kid wants to leave the area. this is not like we about to loose him to fsu or florida. this kid has alabama, clemson and ohio state on his list. our coaches have recruited the crap out of this young man, to include offer chatfield! Hopefully the hold-up with him and nesta is that they are helping with the recruitment. We are also told by one of the posters that he is um. I would sit back and let this play out. Richt and staff is in another planet vs. the cats we had here the past 3 staffs, not even close!!! We flip our #1 lb target from fsu, who is desperate for lb's and we loose a cb that was a 2nd or 3rd option for us. Our fans should sit back and let this play out.

It should be a layup for a million reasons already discussed ad nauseum on here. Quit enabling losing behavior, chappy. We lose this dude, and it goes down as one of the all-time epic recruiting fails.

Your post is funny!!! Keep doing you and what allows you to sleep at night! Epic failures is what the previous staffs did, not even recruit a kid like this!

Nah. Folden would have recruited him. He might not have landed him, but that's part of the reason he was a colossal failure.

Rick got fired at UGA because he fugged up recruiting. Most notably, he blew it with Deshawn Watson. Sometimes, the margin between success and failure can be razor thin. Check the most recent NFL draft and look at all the kids who were drafted from Georgia. I think only one of them attended UGA out of something like 29 guys.

This dude's making $4M+ per year to not lose local 5 star program-changers like Campbell and Surtain and the like. If the best he can do is be "at the table" with these sorts of guys, then he's going to fail too.

I'm very hopeful that he does what he's getting paid to do and locks up the guys he should lock up. He's done a great job so far with this class. But he can't afford to fizzle out in the end.

Two years to recruit Campbell. Different situation than Surtain, who long ago was projected LSU, so it was going to be an uphill battle to flip him. This kid was legitimately open to recruitment (meaning, as far as we know, didn't have parents/coaches pushing him to a particular school). Campbell is an absolutely elite talent. If Richt is the recruiter we think he is, then Campbell should be a lock. That being said, Campbell sounds like a good kid who doesn't want to draw attention to himself. Maybe he's told the staff he's coming but doesn't feel the need to tell the media that he's shut down his recruitment. I think even Sabag would have a tough time giving the #1 or #2 corner in the country an ultimatum. Possible that Richt understands that an ultimatum might send wrong message so the fact that Campbell hasn't publically shut down his recruitment doesn't mean much.

What is probably the most concerning is that Miami seems quietly confident about Campbell, but felt similarly about Jobe. Difference is that Jobe had indicated a flip ever since Saban gave him a Baby Einstein "shapes and colors" activity ball. So far Campbell doesn't appear to have shown huge interest in other schools.

IMO most of these kids no where they are going. It's not much a staff can do to sway them one way or another... maybe for that recruit on the fence.. but for the most part these kids ate going where they want.. For the schools that were recruiting Shaq... they didn't fail... Shaq went where he wanted to go

Most idiots on this board think recruiting is like a NCAA video game.

So it IS possible for a staff to do a good job recruiting and a kid still choose to go elsewhere? Interesting....

Richt got fired because of one player? That's an remarkably dumb take, even for you.

If that's true though why is your fat *** whining so much about Campbell? Richt got the QBs in Perry and Williams, so we must be all good
