TVD Staying at UM Mega-Thread (F off Nick and the local Miami media dreck)

There are 4-5 teams t in the ACC alone he doesn't walk in and automatically start at: UNC, Duke, FSU and Clemson for sure, with at least another couple of toss ups.

I'm a huge TVD guy, but you are grossly overvaluing him
Agreed. He’s good but this isn’t Justin Fields or Trevor Laurence.

him going to Bama wouldn't ***** himself. it would ***** us though bc the other two QBs aren't ready and Marios selection of QBs hasn't been good.
Playing for Rees, would be his what, 4th OC in as many years? IMO. that would set him back a bit. Not totally ***** him. That was a knee jerk, sour grapes, reaction, on my part. The rest of your post, I agree with. Mario has selected some good QBs (offer sheet has been elite), but the procurement of said QB's, has left a lot to be desired.

If I wanted clicks, I would have posted about this on Sunday when I got the news. This should not be out, which is why you didn’t hear anything from me or @Cribby.

I gave you what I know in my post and went to sleep. What else would you like to know?
Were you also awaken by the ungodly emergency broadcast notification on your cell phone at this time?

Some of these ****’s who act like this is free agency similar to the NFL (don’t disagree) better get comfortable with being treated like a Pro (i.e., getting your **** booed for poor play, having your scholarship revoked if you suck or suffer an injury, etc.).

Crying to the media about fan attendance and boo’s raining down from the stands will be laughed at, not met with sympathy. You are in the big leagues now.

You really can.

Players really only want to play 3 years and bounce asap - but even if they stay 4 now bc of NIL:

School 1 - year 1
Free transfer
School 2 - year 2
Transfer bc of made up story - waiver granted
School 3 - year 3
Go pro

And you have remember, most kids above won't transfer after year 1, they wait until their sophomore year to see if they start or not. So more realistically:

School 1 - years 1 and 2
Free transfer
School 2 - year 3
Go Pro or request waiver to transfer
School 3 - year 4
Go Pro or grad transfer
School 4 - year 5

School 1 - year 1
Free transfer
School 2 - year 2
Transfer, sit a year.
School 3 - sit out
School 3 (year 2) - play
Grad Transfer
School 4
Go Pro

Great scenarios! I really would like to see someone test leaving second school without sitting a year. If I recall, NCAA did make some changes about transferring recently.

Nah, people aren't sitting out anymore.

My dude you get one free transfer and then you have to sit out a year, and they are supposedly reeling in the waivers. The kid we lost to FSU has a mother who was diagnosed with cancer, iirc. That's real and heavy. You aren't going to see that many double transfers going forward. Some, but it's not going to be manic. It's one of the reasons some people are speculating maybe it's better to be the first program to land a guy in the portal than out of HS. It's actually harder for them to leave once they've transferred once.

D$’s #2 above is the most interesting part of this thread and everyone was too caught up in their feelings to catch it.

If TVD stays I hope whatever the plan was, or who it was, comes out.

Even the “plan” is wishful thinking. We had a “plan” to sign a big time WR in the portal last year and look what happened

****, I thought after the "Miami doesn't have a college stadium dynamic" debacle he'd transfer this offseason to begin with. I am not surprised that he's been flirting around to get a better deal, or Saban's tampering, or whatever is happening here. Take a QB in the portal. Make Tyler either **** or get off the pot and win the job. You've bled for this U. If you wanna look around after all you've been through here, then whatever man. I haven't kept up with the portal so idk what's in there but if we can find a cat with a couple hundred snaps under his belt and w/ some mobility, give him TVD's BMW lmfao.

Interesting last 2 sentences. The Portal needed to happen because of the inequity in coaches being able to leave and players being stuck, but this is a new paradigm and the sooner it is figured out the better.

I think he would do well at bama when they put talent everyone. When the face UGA then that's different. That's why I'm saying if he truly doesn't believe in himself he will go to bama. It's the easier route to the league for him. If he stays her it's high risk that he can flame out. This probably won't be a good year the teams best players are just arriving and their pups.
No reason it can’t be a good year not like they have elite teams on the schedule

Sure I have. Name some guys that have left schools every year.

Didn't we recently lose a DT to FSU who we had nabbed from U of Maryland the prior year?

Check the portal....there are basketball and football players looking to transfer to their 3rd or 4th school. So the OP's observation is not far-fetched.

HS kids need to take as many college credits as they can. Some could roll into college as a Soph or if worked *** off a Jr. Then a free transfer and grad transfer be very possible and transfer every year.

The money worked with TVD earlier this offseason and now he's asking for more. So throw his money at someone else if you need to or convince the kid to stay. Those are the options. Overpay to keep your guy or overpay to take their guy. Thats how FA works
It wasn’t the money that worked. Mario promised him that the offense would be different and that he would surround him with better players

My question is where is footballcaneville or whatever is name is getting his access because he’s had a few shady moments that should have had him blocked out
DVD was one continuous culprit, don’t think it’s him this time around. But who knows.
