TVD Staying at UM Mega-Thread (F off Nick and the local Miami media dreck)

And if it doesn't, than Mario should just leave. Because there's no point to coaching a Miami Hurricanes team that is simply a farm system for other schools. Let's say Jacorri suddenly emerges...why wouldn't USC offer him $10M to go there in 2024? And then in the 2024 season, what if Emory blows up? That's simple, A&M sends a feeler in December for $18M and he departs after a season.

I've heard change is coming to NIL and transfer regulations. It's out of hand, but if it were to continue as it is, you're spot on. There will be some top teams and then everyone else is just a minor league team to them.

No need to use such vulgar language, friend!

Might I suggest opening up a bottle of champagne and enjoying a nice Mimosa? You’ll feel much better afterwards!

:)

I never advocate for bans, but why is look at me bearded clam allowed to hang around?

Don’t tell me it’s for the clicks.

I actually feel like this is the scheme that made TVD so I feel that would be wild to leave this scheme in his money year. Especially to go play in a Rees ground and pound Gattis type offense

Lol this is true...but like I said, It was a team that wanted to be led.... Your QB is usually your leader and TVD wasn't providing.
Bengals fan here. This statement is true about qb needing to be a leader. Carson Palmer was a supremely talented qb, but hated being I. The leadership role. And as an organization, they rolled with Andy dalton, knowing he was nowhere near as talented but was actually a natural leader that inspires confidence. Sometimes the best decision is to sacrifice that talent for the intangible

No, I don't understand. Yes, it's money. Maybe they offered him $1M. Or $1B. Who cares what the amount is. It's irrelevant.

There is a right time to make this move and a wrong time. The right time is after the season or in the first portal opening. He's the leader of this team, the face of this franchise. For better or for worse.

Let's say he leaves with minutes to spare as the portal closes. Don't care that he got $100B. Or a trillion.

It's not honorable. If he does this, he screwed his team mates. He screwed the future of the program, because there is a difference recruiting based off of a 3 win season versus an 8 win season with him.

Kids we're recruiting now aren't expecting to play with TVD anyway. The team will ostensibly be the same come 2024 whether he wears orange & green this season or not.

The roster turnover moving forward dictates our future, not an outgoing QB.

Not buying this being a real threat. 1) Dawson was hand picked for TVD and this roster 2) TVD personally recruited Matt Lee to the U 3) No guarantee he’d start at Bama

Yeah, I mean how you can you even recruit elite athletes? Again, let's say Jacorri blows up this year. Great, but then a dozen teams are offering him ten figures to jump to their team in 2024. And if you're a top recruit, how can you trust that you'll even be playing with whoever Miami has on the roster.

Quarterback is the most important position. The face of the franchise. Unless Miami has no NIL dollars - it has to be pooled towards that position's favor.

I meann on the flip side Miami has been completely unstable since he signed and Gattis legit almost ruined TVDs career. He went from a top 10 projected pick to UFA in a year.

Then Mario sat on his hands and brought in an OC a week or two before spring ball.

TVD and Dawson probably didn’t mesh if he is looking around.

Regardless IMO he’s gone and it is what it is I guess. Takes us from a 9 win team to a 6 win team this year
