TVD Staying at UM Mega-Thread (F off Nick and the local Miami media dreck)

Even if this does get worked out, you think this team is going to want to go to war with him? Lol.

Sure. These kids talk. If he’s just trying to get his money enough kids probably know. And if it’s somewhat murky, let’s be real, 96% of thee kids would do the same. It’s a business now. It’s NFL. It’s different.

We all need to zoom out and take a breathe and look at it from a business perspective. The game has changed.

Btw the reason you’re the only one I’ve replied to in this thread is you’re one of the few people who’s perspective I respect. I enjoy dialoguing with you.

Stranger things have happened but if TVD leaves NOW for any school, let alone Bama, that’s treason at the highest level and totally indefensible. Mario has sung his praises, Ruiz has taken care of him with NIL, and he has a new offense that fits his style.

Bama could win a championship with TVD, and right now we're long-shots in the ACC...

I would understand if he left for an opportunity to shine, but the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

If he does go, I hope he chunks his 9 iron on that god awful clay where dirt is supposed to be.

I do understand it if he chooses to bounce. It's an amazing opportunity and anyone who is being honest would admit it's a better situation. Young man only has so much time to play.

As for loyalty, there isn't any these days. I'm not even sure there should be. NIL and transfer rules have led to this and as everyone has only 4 years to play, you better take advantage of it.

What we do after this should it happen, obviously bring in a starter level QB. ****, I'd look for two unless you really believe that at some point Williams or Brown are serviceable backups.

As for my thoughts on TVD, he had one **** of a streak two years back. That shows what he's capable of. With an average defense, the right coordinator, he will get drafted and high at that. Last year, he did get injured, came back, but after a few hits he didn't want anymore. I didn't like the look, but I understood it since we weren't winning **** and he was one hit away from another injury.

Lastly, I don't think this would be an indictment about anything here. Bama is just another level and it's the right call if the offer to come over is legit. Tampering, ****, nobody cares about that and everyone does it.

Yeah, it’s a dirtbag move. Some people do business this way. I’m assuming he thinks we’re at our weakest given the timing and he can leverage that for the most money. It’s a cut throat strategy.

Personally I’d let him walk for a variety of reasons. I do think it hurts the culture. I do think we have to set some boundaries and a precedent that you do this early or there’s no staying. We’re not winning anything this year and can find a game manager at a minimum. And he holds the ball too **** long and is overrated. I’m not convinced he’s back to form.

Agreed, he could've left earlier on and given us time to get another QB in the portal to learn Dawson's offense and gel with the WRS. It's a dirtbag move X100000
