While it's an intriguing thought, this isn't CFB 25 where we can just swap him over.I know I will likely get clowned for this but with the depth being what it is in the back 7 would you get some reps with Restrepo back there or at least start getting him reps in practice in the event of an oh **** moment?
@Coach Macho coached the kid, I believe he thought he would be better on defense (correct me if I am wrong). I know Strep said a lot of his folks think he is a better safety than WR. And yes, I know he is our best WR, and no I dont want to tire him out or risk injury but if we are deep in the playoffs and getting torched or injuries mount, would you rather see a TF like Day or Mack back there or Strep?
Travis Hunter is clearly the best player for colorado and he goes both ways and is able to do it at a high level. I recall the patriots in the super bowl I think had to use a WR (edelman or troy brown going way back) on defense in a pinch so we have examples of it being done. Im just saying I dont really see a dominant team this year in CFB and I think if we are on we can win against anyone. Next year we lose the core of this team so time to win is now and no guy wants it more than Strep why not go all out?
As great as X has been for us at WR, I don't think attempting to get him to play both ways is any kind of solution for us. Travis Hunter has played both ways since he started college because he has elite tools for both CB/WR. X is an excellent athlete that's turned into an all-time Miami WR...but to ask him to play CB or S his Sr year addition to that?
Not clowning you, just saying in my mind...that's a no-go.
