This is why FSU and SEC schools close well over us. We'll be in it for a kid until real late and then whoosh, the cash flies in the last week of recruiting and the big schools all of the sudden "close well". I can smell it coming.

I really dont get this whole situation; from most reports(mainly Ice Harris) Miami said it was a numbers thing; I just cant wrap my head around that. It makes absolutely no sense.

1. You dont pull a kids offer 6 days before NSD because he wont commit, especially with the possible backlash.
--- who cares if he grabs the FSU hat; you have to put your pride aside and make the logical decision.

2. IF it really is a numbers crunch, so what if we oversigned by one. And if he picked the noles it wouldnt even affect the numbers.

3. You have to just let it ride out until national signing day,

I guess my point is: Why was it such a necessity to pull his offer? Why was it worth pulling his offer? Why not just leave it on the table and deal with it on NSD.

With all that being said, I think there HAS to be more to it than a numbers cruch.

I could see C4L scenario being a possibity, but my only question it why not just let it ride, how could it really hurt us that bad? To avoid being dissed? or oversigning by one?

What am I missing?

at a minimum the message should be clear, if you're looking we're lookin'. If you're telling us there might be something different and maybe better out there, we're lookin too. You tellin us you could go somewhere else, you won't commit, means we're telling you someone else could fill your spot, and take your scholorship.

Ive been a big time Al fan from the jump, but this is a ******* disaster. This is EXACTLY the type of thing Randy would do. You do not publicly humiliate Tim Ice Harris or his kids. You do not alienate pipeline schools. The whole "oh whatever Kirkland is a project" argument is ******* insane and short sighted. Sonny is a project too. If you are going to pull a scholarship days before signing day you do it to someone living in Maryland, not someone living in overtown. We can always pull obscure lightly recruited out of state kids. Randy did it pretty much exclusively after he alienated everyone in Dade County and Plant. We have 2 guys in this class from Dade County right now and we just alienated the top program for years to come. And for what?

I don't know if this has been discussed because I've only looked at the first post so far. But does anyone else remember Kirk claiming a couple of weeks ago that he would announce on Feb. 1 because he wanted to give the schools he didn't choose a chance to fill his spot with someone else? What do you think the chances are that he and UM made that agreement? I think they're pretty strong.

All of a sudden, Kirk tells UM he's going to wait till signing day because, as Ice said last night, this is a big decision, and Kirk's still not certain where he's going. UM wanted assurance from him that he'd commit to them by Feb. 1, as they likely originally agreed upon, and Kirk said no again. So, they pulled the plug because they smelled a rat and needed to make sure they filled that spot with someone.

Let's not also lose track of the fact that UM set up a big signing day event with ESPN, and the last thing UM wants is for some punk to throw the UM hat on the ground and do an Irish jig on it. They wanted assurance from Kirk, and Kirk decided he didn't want to give it to them. I don't buy this whole deal about Ice not knowing about a deadline. It reeks of **** to me because that Feb. 1 announcement was discussed 2 weeks ago.

Like I said last nigh, I'll ride with Alshermond. The Don has been super precise with EVERYTHING he's done with recruiting and developing this programs since he got here. Does anyone honestly think he'd fly off the handle and make some irrational decision on a whim that might blow up in his face?

Let's go one step further, "Ice" was a part of the previous regime that failed miserably at everything they did so does anyone think it's possible that "Ice" fugged this up? You have Golden who has been on point and "Ice" who was sent back down to the HS ranks.

Something doesn't add up and I'll take Goldens side on this. DK needed to either **** or get off the pot and he made his choice so now he can lay in it. Hopefully these South FL Me Me's will learn that Golden aint fugging around! If you're looking then we're looking. He's told everybody that from day one so when he passes you by don't act like you didn't know.

Regardless of whose fault it is...you don't **** where you eat. And that's what Golden did yesterday. It's not a big deal to me now, but if it causes us to lose out on other top players at BTW like Matthew Thomas then it becomes a big deal.

harris has influence on all the dade schools, that is a fact, every school down here loves harris, and lets not forget he is part of team that produces talent, something doesnt feel right about this whole situation, there is something that is not being said, money, promises, something, i really dont think that golden is this stupid and even if he is coley, crystal ball, and carroll are not stupid they would stop golden from doing that and that is just saying if golden is stupid (im not saying that and i dont think he is) and someone had said this in one of the 55,000 page post that we may never know what really happened
