Tim "Lice" Harris is a joke thread

From what this says, it does sound like the staffs fault, they should've let him know about the deadline earliwr

how do you know they didnt? Just because Harris didn't know about it doesn't mean DK didn't.

@unclelukereal1: I've been fighting for UM all my life talking to coaches about giving Al a chance. Al has just committed suicide you don't do that to Ice.
This guy never missed an oportunity to take a jab at Al Golden all year long and is now saying he fights for Miami?

LMAO

Luke is a raciest. As long as Randy (the black man) was the coach everything was great no matter how bad the team was on the field. He gets fired and they bring in Al (the white guy) and he wants nothing to do with him and attacks him at every turn from day one before he even has a chance to do anything. The team starts winning and playing well and Luke still has done nothing but bash Al and co. So as far as Luke goes for me he can suck it.

Ive been a big time Al fan from the jump, but this is a ****ing disaster. This is EXACTLY the type of thing Randy would do. You do not publicly humiliate Tim Ice Harris or his kids. You do not alienate pipeline schools. The whole "oh whatever Kirkland is a project" argument is ****ing insane and short sighted. Sonny is a project too. If you are going to pull a scholarship days before signing day you do it to someone living in Maryland, not someone living in overtown. We can always pull obscure lightly recruited out of state kids. Randy did it pretty much exclusively after he alienated everyone in Dade County and Plant. We have 2 guys in this class from Dade County right now and we just alienated the top program for years to come. And for what?

Who made this public? I can guarantee that Corch Al and Company didn't make it public. If Kirkland and Harris kept their mouths shut, no one would have known about this.

Here's my thoughts:

- Al and Co know what they're doing; they dropped Kirkland for a reason and it's probably a good or legitimate reason
- They did this knowing that it might affect their relationship with BTW as well as Ice - so again, it has to be for a legitimate reason
- My guess is that either Kirkland was playing a lot of games and Coley was offering some info from the FSU standpoint OR there was something very bad at play (e.g. money or academic fraud)
- If it was the latter, Al and Co had to back-off ASAP due to NCAA and other scrutiny
- Ice is playing damage control because it's one of his players and he has been a UM guy is whole life; he doesn't want this to reflect poorly on one of HIS players
- Al/UM probably didn't communicate everything through Ice because they felt like they were either played, dragged along, or it was something illegal that they didn't want Ice involved with

At the end of the day, I trust the decision of our head coach and staff. There HAS to be a good reason for Al to do this and, even more of a confirmation, Barrow communicating this to school in which one of his good friends coaches. I just hope that Al and Co did this knowing or at least being prepared for the backlash and future relationship issues. That's what worries me.

Ice, one BS dumb *** interview, they have been recruiting this kid for two years. The kids know where they are going, if the don't by know too **** bad, what the **** is wrong with some of these SF kids. Glad the scolly was pulled, we gave it to someone who wants to be at Miami.

And I'll never for a minute believe that Ice is on Al's side. He's just done a better job of hiding it than big mouths like Luke have. Ice had a good high-paying gig at UM under Shanntard. Al comes in. Bye bye cushy gig at UM. Not buying the UM/Al love from Ice at all, and he showed his true colors on the subject last night when his emotions all came spewing out like hot ***gy lava.

This dude Ice is a powerful figure. Big dude. Big voice. Big connections in the community. You mean to tell me if he was really a big UM/Al supporter that he couldn't help convince Kirk or Thomas to commit to the local school and quit with all this f#ckery. Not buying his schtick for a minute and not buying all the dudes claiming he loves UM. If he loved UM he'd be exercising his influence in a positive manner, not trying to nuke us in the press a week before signing day.

This dude Ice tries to act like he's a bystander with his recruits and lets them do whatever they want with no input. Not buying it. This dude's got an ego, and like I said he's a powerful figure. If he was really so hands-off with the recruiting, then why's he pitching a fit about this? And why was he claiming he had Kirk in the bag for UM yesterday despite Kirk being absolutely unwilling to commit.

The whole thing stinks.[/QUOTE]

From Canesport on 1/20....

"We talked with coach (Al) Golden, one-on-one with him," Kirkland's father, Shanton Crummie, said. "And he [Denver] basically told him he narrowed it down to UM in the lead, and then Florida State and Mississippi. But he said he'll let him know, doesn't want to leave him at the alter, will decide by Feb. 1."

Bottom line is this kid and his family lied to Golden. You have to call people's bluffs sometimes.

I also believe Shanntard Crummy is also up to some shenanigans here.

How did they publicly humiliate Harris? He is the one that went to the media

@TheStateOfTheU Al Golden is going to have to call Ice Harris. Ice said he wasn't calling.

Agree and someone else JUST posted an interview from Kirk's stepdad where he himself talked about a Feb 1 deadline so that other schools have time to fill the slots. This was not a unilateral deadline. Make no mistake, Kirk and UM had agreement on a deadline - Feb 1. More lilkely scenario is that Kirk told UM coaches "I need more time - I'll let you know next week" and coaches said "see ya."
