All of a sudden, Kirk tells UM he's going to wait till signing day because, as Ice said last night, this is a big decision, and Kirk's still not certain where he's going. So, they pulled the plug because they smelled a rat and needed to make sure they filled that spot with someone.

Let's not also lose track of the fact that UM set up a big signing day event with ESPN, and the last thing UM wants is for some punk to throw the UM hat on the ground and do an Irish jig on it. They wanted assurance from Kirk, and Kirk decided he didn't want to give it to them. I don't buy this whole deal about Ice not knowing about a deadline. It reeks of **** to me because that Feb. 1 announcement was discussed 2 weeks ago.

Like I said last nigh, I'll ride with Alshermond. The Don has been super precise with EVERYTHING he's done with recruiting and developing this programs since he got here. Does anyone honestly think he'd fly off the handle and make some irrational decision on a whim that might blow up in his face?

100% right on the money. I also feel Coach Coley knew more about where these guys where planning to go all along. Kirk is butt hurt because a big school said we aren't waiting for this dog an pony show. You gave the coaches a timeline and now your the one not sticking to it so coach ice blast UM.
 
@unclelukereal1: I've been fighting for UM all my life talking to coaches about giving Al a chance. Al has just committed suicide you don't do that to Ice.

Golden Didn't become stupid overnight.

Golden has brought in 2 SUPER recruiters along with himself and Barrow. To think that they ALL dropped the ball on this .. LOL Remember - Perception is one thing but Reality is another.

There is something that went on with this recruitment that turned UM away from DKirk... Period.

We all were riding with Golden before this but Now he's the dumbest man on earth.... all in on day.

And I'll never for a minute believe that Ice is on Al's side. He's just done a better job of hiding it than big mouths like Luke have. Ice had a good high-paying gig at UM under Shanntard. Al comes in. Bye bye cushy gig at UM. Not buying the UM/Al love from Ice at all, and he showed his true colors on the subject last night when his emotions all came spewing out like hot ***gy lava.

This dude Ice is a powerful figure. Big dude. Big voice. Big connections in the community. You mean to tell me if he was really a big UM/Al supporter that he couldn't help convince Kirk or Thomas to commit to the local school and quit with all this f#ckery. Not buying his schtick for a minute and not buying all the dudes claiming he loves UM. If he loved UM he'd be exercising his influence in a positive manner, not trying to nuke us in the press a week before signing day.

This dude Ice tries to act like he's a bystander with his recruits and lets them do whatever they want with no input. Not buying it. This dude's got an ego, and like I said he's a powerful figure. If he was really so hands-off with the recruiting, then why's he pitching a fit about this? And why was he claiming he had Kirk in the bag for UM yesterday despite Kirk being absolutely unwilling to commit.

The whole thing stinks.

This guy is a clown... He has not helped AL since day one. He was and is a Randy disciple! Actions speak loader than words. He was a UM supporter and stopped when Randy got fired and he got cutoff... His entitlement got revoked and he is still ****ed...

"And he [Denver] basically told him he narrowed it down to UM in the lead, and then Florida State and Mississippi. But he said he'll let him know, doesn't want to leave him at the alter, will decide by Feb. 1."

Bottom line is this kid and his family lied to Golden. You have to call people's bluffs sometimes.

Ive been a big time Al fan from the jump, but this is a ******* disaster. This is EXACTLY the type of thing Randy would do. You do not publicly humiliate Tim Ice Harris or his kids. You do not alienate pipeline schools. The whole "oh whatever Kirkland is a project" argument is ******* insane and short sighted. Sonny is a project too. If you are going to pull a scholarship days before signing day you do it to someone living in Maryland, not someone living in overtown. We can always pull obscure lightly recruited out of state kids. Randy did it pretty much exclusively after he alienated everyone in Dade County and Plant. We have 2 guys in this class from Dade County right now and we just alienated the top program for years to come. And for what?

There's another direct quote from Kirk that I remember saying he was going to announce on Feb. 1 because he wanted to give the schools he didn't choose the courtesy of finding someone else to fill his spot. I remember that. If someone can find that one and pin it all over the anti-social media outlets that would be great.
