Nothing here makes sense, yesterday was January 31st or 6 days till NSD. Are people telling me that the kid couldn't commit to a school 6 days before NSD?

If a kid wants to go to Miami, but cannot commit 6 days before NSD, then does he really "want" to go to Miami. Is something else going on?

With limited schollies it just goes to show you that kids need to be aware of Miami's situation and this is NOT the year to play the game. Take it for what it's worth, last night on the radio, "The Beast" said there is more to this, and anyone who thought Thomas and Kirkland were a package deal and best buds are wrong. He said that Thomas still having an offer and Kirkland not having an offer is indicative of there being a reason beyond what is being discussed for the offer being revoked.

He also issued a warning to Canes fans saying, don't be surprised if some of the uncommitted kids who UM is in the running for choose SEC schools because they simply can not "afford" not to. I just wish that people who supposedly know things would just put it out there and just say who the guilty parties are, instead if issuing blanket statements.

What more do you want spelled out. Kid was on the take from an SEC, Golden found out about it, sent Barrows to investigate, Barrows met first with Ice to relay the info and requested 3 way private meeting with kid and Ice, Barrow wanted to test the rumor and asked him to commit on spot, when kid said NO, Golden had to cut the kid loose. With the NCAA investigation about to be closed he can not take any risks with more dirty money. Ice was just protecting his kid. That is the deal.

Ice is gonna protect the kid because thats his job, Not sure if denver handled it a certain way or if there is more to it but coach Ice is as stand up as they come and he helps alot of kids go to school, not just his D1 guys like alot of coaches but other kids also.

Maybe is because I`m from another country, but to protect a kid is a different thing here. If it´s a misundesrtood, man up, assume your faults(too) and say the truth. If you look the interviews he did with M. Navarro, the one for ESPN and this one now, is hard to believe he is being transparent with the amount of contradictions that are coming out of his mouth since yesterday.

Just read once again his three interviews and tell me this guy is being transparent.

Is this the fault of an experienced group of coaches and top-flight recruiters with their own deep connections to South Florida who have a recruiting board they have been developing for two years (or more) or a 17 year old who was fixated on a single date in his life and what kind of publicity he would get on said date?

Kirkland has every right in the world to enjoy the process, take his visits, waiting as long as he wants to commit and end his recruitment. However, UM does not have to follow his timeline and wishes.

If by some fortunate turn of events he is able to join this class, great. If not; next.

Read the interviews, I think the part that makes coach Ice mad is we waited to the last possible second to relay the message of we need an answer now. We dont know if there was a communication breakdown, but I do know Ice and he is not in it to get shine or get his name in the paper so dont see why he would make it up. Obviously there is a whole other side, which Ice has been a part of and understands, but this is a local kid who goes to a local power. To me its not about one kid, but when you lose the confidence of someone like Ice, who has a lot of influence on the local scene its a bad deal period.

He feels like his kid was wronged, this should of been explained from the get go what was expected of him, at this moment, he cant take certain trips to expand his options and is just in a bind, I highly doubt Ice told the coaches Kirkland was going to Um then have kirkland go somewhere else to make them look bad. makes no sense. Just a bad situation all the way around and then gets put under the burner when we have 3 oline projects and only 2 local commits, with a top commit and same school who we want and need

I thought FSU and Miami were neck and neck for Kirkland? Why has FSU been eliminated? If Ole Miss and Arkansas are his final two that means that Kirkland and Thomas are not a package deal. So I would table some of this talk that this effects landing Thomas in some way.
