Tim "Lice" Harris is a joke thread

Isn't the flip side of this that the coaches feel good enough about Thomas that they were ok with putting the heat on Kirkland knowing it wouldn't affect Thomas' decision? Maybe one he allready made?

Take it for what it's worth, last night on the radio, "The Beast" said there is more to this, and anyone who thought Thomas and Kirkland were a package deal and best buds are wrong. He said that Thomas still having an offer and Kirkland not having an offer is indicative of there being a reason beyond what is being discussed for the offer being revoked.

He also issued a warning to Canes fans saying, don't be surprised if some of the uncommitted kids who UM is in the running for choose SEC schools because they simply can not "afford" not to. I just wish that people who supposedly know things would just put it out there and just say who the guilty parties are, instead if issuing blanket statements.

Collins - Arkansas
6 - Alabama

This is what he means

From what this says, it does sound like the staffs fault, they should've let him know about the deadline earliwr

They did
And if this is the case, it should be the end of the discussion. It's a perfectly legitimate decision for the staff to take a sure commitment from a player in a position of need rather than wait on a 50/50 chance at landing Kirkland. The butthurt here is insane. If you want to play the recruiting game to its full duration, fine, but don't get upset with those who don't. As long as the staff was explicit to Kirkland about their deadline, I can't blame them for what they did. Maybe there was a better way to handle the situation, but I can't blame them.

We called him on his bluff.

Wouldn't surprise me if Coley tipped them off on it.

I'm sure Coley told them what he had been telling FSU....if that wasn't the same as what he was telling the UM staff during the process then they probably felt they couldn't trust him.

I'll side with the ethics of Al Golden over a Tim "ice" Harris any ******' day of the week. Stroking the ego of an 18 year old is not on my priority list and I don't want a coach whose it is.

And to be honest if it was between taking a big time JUCO DT and Denver Kirkland, I ride with the coaches decision. OL is the hardest to project to the next level. A proven juco DL has at least proved SOMETHING. Plus, we are pretty stacked at OL.

These SoFl kids need to realize that if they grow up wanting to be 'Canes, they can't let outside interference cloud that. They let other coaches, ESPN produces, and previous recruits experiences get in the way of that. Then they wind up rotting in places like Tally and Arkansas. If a few kids see this encounter and take note of it, then it is a good thing.

Wonder if Ice messed this up somehow? What if he was telling DK it was ok to wait til NSD? That UM wouldn't pull his ship? Note that DK said he couldn't trust anyone now. He could have said he couldn't trust UM. But he said anyone. Maybe Ice is upset because he looks bad to his players?

^ This is exactly whats happened. And I don't buy that Ice was all UM before this either. UM KNOWS what the status was with Thomas, Kirkland, Harris and FSU. Coley would have known that. UM doesn't pull Kirklands scholly unless the coaches know he's playing us. And either we know Thomas is coming regardless of this situation, or we know Thomas is going elsewhere. They would never have done this if Thomas' recruitment was still up in the air, and IMHO they would never have done this if they believed Ice Harris was being up front with them as well.

Funny thing is that FSU is doing the same thing with Michael Johnson but he doesn't call them out.

I listened to the interview and I'm still not buying. There is something else going on. Very little of what Coach Harris said makes any sense under these circumstances. He's protecting the kid.

That is exactly what happened. He is protecting him. Golden had to cut him loose cause there is more at play here than just a kid not wanting to privately commit. Ice, Barrows and Golden know what really went down. Golden has enough problems with the NCAA and could not afford another one.

This crying butthurt is ****ing retarded. Harris is making it sound like the staff killed Kirkland's dog or something. If he cared so much about being at Miami, he would have committed. If he wasn't into Miami enough to commit, why is it such a huge deal that he no longer has an offer there? Just go to one of the other 2 schools that were even with Miami and quit whining.

This is what I was thinking. What we he devastated about?

What more do you want spelled out. Kid was on the take from an SEC, Golden found out about it, sent Barrows to investigate, Barrows met first with Ice to relay the info and requested 3 way private meeting with kid and Ice, Barrow wanted to test the rumor and asked him to commit on spot, when kid said NO, Golden had to cut the kid loose. With the NCAA investigation about to be closed he can not take any risks with more dirty money. Ice was just protecting his kid. That is the deal.

All yall hating on Ice can fu*k off! That man has helped more young black men than any person on this **** board! So just because he's upset with the surprise he has a right to do so but everybody on here saying he is butthurt can suck an aids infested popsicle!

First off, it's all about the U.

Sounds about right

Especially with Krikland having Arky #1 and Ole Miss #2 now

sounds to me like we have another kid from so. florida trying to tell the coach what is good for the program. They did it to randy and coker all the time. Randy did not put up with it, was very stern; coker did, let the kids do what they wanted, now let's see how Al handles it. Last year we let a good one go, in the lb from Norland.
