remember the past NLOIDs where fence-sitting, highly rated recruits chose other schools at the last minute. we tried to take las minute plan Bs, wound up with plan Cs, holes in the roster, all the time telling future recruits they could slow play us, and **** us at the las minute. Them days over fellas.

anyway any of you guys see DK telling Miami coaches he was just playing the game and wants to be a cane and gets his scholly back?
 
What's worse, committing to a school and later being dropped or having a coach tell you before signing day that they don't have room for you? It's funny, to me, Golden could have taken him in, and after the numbers, have him not qualify, or suspended, or cut, and leave the kid high and dry, forcing him to sit out a year for NCAA transfer rules, and save face and lie to his face saying he has a spot for him and to sign with his team. Or he can be a man, tell the kid the truth, face the position like a man, and let the teenager make his own decisions. People that second guess Al for making a tough decision have no backbone. This is doing it the right way, he actually is looking out for the kids best interest.
 
Miami is the best school in Florida, that's why his kids went there. If Ice has a problem with anyone it should be himself for not preparing those kids better. You play games sometimes you get burned, the kid probably was going to ***** us anyway.

harris has influence on all the dade schools, that is a fact, every school down here loves harris, and lets not forget he is part of team that produces talent, something doesnt feel right about this whole situation, there is something that is not being said, money, promises, something, i really dont think that golden is this stupid and even if he is coley, crystal ball, and carroll are not stupid they would stop golden from doing that and that is just saying if golden is stupid (im not saying that and i dont think he is) and someone had said this in one of the 55,000 page post that we may never know what really happened

Regardless of whose fault it is...you don't **** where you eat. And that's what Golden did yesterday. It's not a big deal to me now, but if it causes us to lose out on other top players at BTW like Matthew Thomas then it becomes a big deal.

I'm sure if Golden came out and told you his side of the story and what he knows you say Golden **** where he eats... But I guess that's why he is the coach of miami and you are a guy who accuse a guy on the computer of something you only know half of the story about.

He's taking advantage of the fact that Miami is prohibited by NCAA rules from commenting publicly. This dude gets to frame the entire issue and only his side of the story ever goes public, Miami is not even allowed a modicum of damage control.

Now he realizes he went too far yesterday, Miami calmed him the **** down, and he is getting slightly closer to the truth, but he still isn't there yet.

Miami has absolutely no reason to pressure any recruit into committing publicly. They do have reason to ask a recruit if he is willing to commit privately, and if a recruit is unwilling or unable to do that this close to NSD, then something is up. No way we **** Denver Kirkland, best friend to Matthew Thomas, off this close to NSD without some seriously dirty, disgusting, downright filthy **** going on by that whole camp down there. Ice Harris is on damage control before that **** comes to light.

Rumors going around now that Kirkland was missing up to 3 core courses. Barrow asked him if he was willing to prep or do summer school.....TFWIW.
 
you can say all you want about the kid ******** us and this and that, you dont know, im not going to come on here and say that the kid was going to ***** us over or golden screwed him over because i don't know, all im going to say that something came up from when golden saw him at the parade and that night, whether it was grades, playing time, timeline of commit, sensing the kid going elsewhere, or im going to say it he wanted some $$$, something came up and golden pulled the plug, we really dont know

the post to which i responded brought up how Ice has helped "young black men" what's race got to do with this?? I didn't bring that up someone else did, to (what??) explain?, excuse?. preface? a dicussion of the man's actions?


I'm a canes fan, and while i respect Ice's dedication, can't help but notice that the U has also helped a lot of young black men, hispanic young men, white young men, of amazing dedication and character, the likes of: sean taylor, duke, mike james, gonzo, dan morgan, to name a very, very few. the u is ready to help more young men, including Ice's players, learn their craft and get a world class education, and have a real shot at the league.

If Ice is protecting this kid, from something....well then...maybe, OK, but if not!...helping kids, as a father knows, really means preparing young people to face the responsibility of their actions, and therefore to first make thoughtful reasoned decisions.


The social policy implications in the preface of Ice Hazrris' behaviors while of some significance, don't - to me - overshadow the most important lesson to be learned by all young men in life. Actions, pehaps the lack of actions, have consequences. Your word is important. Hopefully behind the scenes teaching these lessons is what Ice is also doing. It sure looks to me like this is exactly what Golden is trying to teach his players.
