RattlerCane305, I sincerely want to thank you for giving us the insight you could. There's a lot of frustration around here and it's not fair for any of it to come your way though most of it is being channeled at Rumph. I know that no one on here will be more disappointed in TC choosing not to be a Cane than you. Your efforts and insights are appreciated by many. Thank you again.

Well said RVA, definitely agree! Couldn’t imagine how much worse threads would be without his info

Why attack Campbell, he didn't play games with his recruitment, but Rumph missing out on TC, Surtain, Jobe and Samuel is a big fail. This staff ****ed around with Jobe way too long and lost Samuel. This is an excellent class, it will put us in the playoffs again in a year or two, but we missed our mark to have an insane db class.

This is fair. Agree on all points.
After watching the jobe saga unfold how could anyone possibly put blame on the coaches. The kid was playing games and we still were trying to sway him until the very last minute

To the point where ppl were giving the staff crap for even trying to keep him.. now the view point has changed to meet the Doom and gloom agenda where we "f***ed around"

I'm not blaming the coaches for Jobe leaving. I think the issue was the coaches stayed committed to Jobe for too long.
Kid made it obvious to everyone. They should have been looking for his replacement way before Jobe made it official.
Kid had been telegraphing his move for a while.
You don't drop kids like jobe

It's not like they weren't looking for replacements and just stopped talking to ppl to fill his spot, as soon as jobe showed true signs of leaving they went for Samuel

Keep in mind jobe was probably lying and misleading to our coaches, never even told them he was flipping

Although true, a good contingent of us saw what Jobe was about since February of last year. If you have a solid portion of the fanbase that can read the kid, but you as a staff member who talks directly to the kid can't read the situation, then that's bad.

I really do have a hard time believing we can't land Campbell. Rumph believed in him, got him into Heritage, switched him to CB, coached him to be the player he is now, and his pops loves Rumph. You're telling me, that loyalty means nothing? Take your talents and run?

If he doesn't end up a Cane that is some **** running both ways. It's an indictment on Rumph for not capitalizing on what he did for Ty. Also, it's kind of messed up by Tyson to take his success that Rumph helped coach up and run up to Georgia. No loyalty. Ty has handled himself well thus far, but if he does go to Georgia that is messed up. He doesn't owe Miami anything, but looks like he does Coach Rumph. Maybe I don't know the whole story?

The only reaction I've seen from Ty about a ball game was when we lost in the Orange bowl. That kid was rooting for The U and he was upset we lost. Don't think this is over yet.

There are soo many assumptions on this board. Do you think for 1 second that the coaching staff has less information about kids than the porsters on this board?

As others have said you don't drop ppl like Jobe. You fight until the end whatever it takes whatever resources you have at your disposal you go all in. And sometimes you lose. It doesn't mean the staff was sitting around saying "he's still a lock" just because they pulled out all the stops. And honestly had they not i'm sure you and other porsters would have said "man we just gave up on Jobe. I knew he wasn't coming but the staff just let him walk they are soft."

Now that I/we know Surtain and Chatfield are very close, I'd be curious to know how important it is for them to play together.

If they really want to play together then that leaves Miami and LSU. (Chatfield doesn't have a Bama offer)

And if what my buddy says is true, then Surtain ain't thrilled about LSU.
And if they do want to play together, and Surtain is supposedly going to LSU, why wouldn't Chatfield be going there as well? (instead of being solid to Miami)
Everyone know LSU is canning coach O after this season. Surtain Sr. been around the block and will tell Jr. to pick school over coach. I still believe he ends up at LSU with Miami finishing second. I like your positivity tho

But from what I'm being told Pat Sr doesn't really want his boy living in Louisiana. And Pat's a mama's boy as well. Mama wants him home.

If that's the case then why go on the OV to LSU

Since I've said this about a thousand times during the Jobe fiasco, I'll say it again.

The staff couldn't afford to drop Jobe.

1. It looks bad on them considering it seems like schools outside of Miami can do kids dirty. If Miami does it though, everyone revolts and tries to black ball Miami. We always have our hands tied with the locals
2. Jobe's an elite talent, you still shoot your shot.

My problem was them not having backup options lined up accordingly to the 11th hour. Again, you keep throwing out assumptions. I literally called this on February 3rd (@Liberty City El) brought up the post of mine when Jobe flipped to Bama. It was all in the tea leaves (constantly talking about business decisions, saying Miami's home and whatever, constantly tweeting out Bama stuff, etc...).

Everyone use a magnifying glass on what Miami does but when it applies to other schools they don’t use it. If we had dropped someone like wildgoose you know someone would have something to say which is unfair.

You're all over the **** place....hating on TC, loving TC...make up your mind son.

I wonder if that staffer is Surtain Sr. I already heard Mom wants him to stay home. Sounds like this guy knows Rumph and Maybe Surtain Sr.

He told you his info guy when he told you he knows more about Silvera and Chatfield than Surtain and Campbell. His dude is whoever coaches DL at Heritage.

I don't think anyone is saying that they should have dropped Jobe or not fight to the end.
What I'm saying is that they should have been recruiting Samuel WAY before they did.

I would have rather offered a guy like Johnny Ford who is undersized but electric I think we need 1 or 2 of these guys instead of Bethel. Waste of a DB spot

Which contingent.......the podcast contingent with the local 7on7 coach spraying Jobe Juice in Pete’s face?

Don’t want Bethel. There has to be some other player out there better than him that we can add to this class.

I think the lack of loyalty is almost everywhere locally. Consider every year there are multiple kids from other states who show ride or die love for UM and then the local kids who love UM and home show it then you have that handful who show they'll leave without batting an eye. Rumph has seemed like a person extremely close to him and his family yet out of seemingly nowhere he is all UGA without even visiting until last weekend? That's being bought and not having much pressure internally to say no IMO. Now I hope Tyson still comes and trust there's been many times where crazy **** happens in recruiting especially with us but this looks horrible on him
