I really do have a hard time believing we can't land Campbell. Rumph believed in him, got him into Heritage, switched him to CB, coached him to be the player he is now, and his pops loves Rumph. You're telling me, that loyalty means nothing? Take your talents and run?
If he doesn't end up a Cane that is some **** running both ways. It's an indictment on Rumph for not capitalizing on what he did for Ty. Also, it's kind of messed up by Tyson to take his success that Rumph helped coach up and run up to Georgia. No loyalty. Ty has handled himself well thus far, but if he does go to Georgia that is messed up. He doesn't owe Miami anything, but looks like he does Coach Rumph. Maybe I don't know the whole story?
The only reaction I've seen from Ty about a ball game was when we lost in the Orange bowl. That kid was rooting for The U and he was upset we lost. Don't think this is over yet.
I'm absolutely not gonna say anything bad about Tyson directly because I have tooooo much respect for @Rattler Cane 305. But this here is a valid point. Kids like Tyson are going to succeed whether they got to Miami, Bama, or Toldeo. Its that simple. He is a bona fide first rounder. To me, the three contenders can all say they will be contenders during his 3 years there, and Id say Miami has a better shot than UGA considering all that they lose this season. That being said, whats the sell? How can Tyson, as a seemingly mature, and smart, respectful young man (all based on how he has seemingly handled the process) say no, not to Miami, but to family in Rumph? How can a relationship formed over one year with UGA and Bama staffs hold more weight than his relationship with Rumph, who we are finding out hasn't just known him, but has taken him along to all his stops from optimist to AH, to the CB position? That to me sounds like a mentor, and we have all had mentors we idolize. Why now is that not enough? We can offer the one and only thing no one else can and that is to win in front of your city and family. Miami Bama and UGA will all win over the next 3 years in some capacity, and regardless of his choice he is going to excel at his craft and his position (Bama and UGA aren't the only schools that can get you to the league, and UGA hasn't really put many STAR DBs in the league recently), so why is Rumph and Miami not enough? What happened? To me there is something else happening. I don't even know that Rumph isn't busting his *** knowing he NEEDS to land TC. I think he knows he must. On the flip side, where is that loyalty? Why has it been this hard for Ty to realize this dude raised me in this game, and showed me the ropes, and I'm gonna ride with him till the end? That's really bugging me. Again, not trying to say anything negative but man where is the loyalty?
