I talked to a couple of Houston fans and they aren't to happy with his play calling, they say his running scheme is horrible. Apparently their offense struggled the first half of the season and improved the 2nd half, some of them think Holgerson took over play calling but it wasn't confirmed.

The running game is exactly why I don't think Mario goes traditional air-raid. An offense with air-raid passing concepts mixed with something like the veer and shoot? Sure. Littrell has one of the best running games in the country, for instance. The Riley brothers, Heupel, Briles, etc all fit into that category. Don't think Mario is against something like that.

Yep. This is exactly what happened last year. As soon as the Dorsey situation was clear with the Bills, it moved quickly. Someone he likes, whether it is Brian Johnson, Tierney, Patullo, etc. Waiting for dominoes to fall (insert Cuban joke about dominoes)

Hopefully we're not trying to force pro-style/pro-spread position coaches into an air-raid offensive system. The 2 guys we hire have to be on the same wavelength.

No, he’s Veer & Shoot with Air Raid passing concepts.

North Texas was 17th in total rush yards last season with 2,798yds at 5.2ypc averaging 199.9ypg.

In 2021, they were 6th with 3,043yds at 4.8ypc averaging 234.1ypg.

It’s the same Offense as Sean Lewis/Andrew Sowder, Art/Kendal Briles etc;

This seems like a match made for physical Mario!
