So I googled it like you suggested and here's what I came up with. This is Yost's PPG and YPG each year he's been an OC vs the same for Littrell:

Yost
SchoolPPGYPG
2009Missouri29412.5
2010Missouri29.8409.6
2011Missouri32.8475.5
2012Missouri25.8356.4
2017Utah St30.2397.4
2018Utah St47.5498.6
2019Texas Tech30.5474.3
2020Texas Tech29.1430.1
2021Texas Tech30.3416.5
2022FIU18.7323.8
AVG30.4419.47
Littrell
SchoolPPGYPG
2010Arizona28.2439.4
2011Arizona30.8465.3
2012Indiana30.8442
2013Indiana38.4508.5
2014North Carolina33.2429.8
2015North Carolina40.7486.9
AVG33.7462.0

So yes - based on resume, Littrell has a better OC resume.
Careful what you ask for...so many people have an opinion on who we shouldnt hire, but literally have no clue who we SHOULD hire. Its comical.

Just want to put out there that Shannon Dawson has coached WRs so if he’s the guy then Mario can go Streeter at QB or Coley at either position depending on how Shannon Dawson feels.
Hopefully we're not trying to force pro-style/pro-spread position coaches into an air-raid offensive system. The 2 guys we hire have to be on the same wavelength.

Just because some of these names are interviewing doesn’t mean it’s for play caller.

Can you just give us a list of 3-4 guys that it actually might be so that way we can eliminate guys that have no shot at the job and at least discuss guys that might be hired by Mario 🤷‍♂️

Or is D$ paying you a small % of the mega bucks he’s making from these DC now OC threads running on endlessly? I mean D$ got his new couch so what more does the guy need.Come on Cribby help a fanbase out….lol

if were doing the QB and separate oC thing then mario did not learn. your OC should be the QBC. it makes a huge diff when thats the case esp when trying to teach QBs your offense and ensure theyre running it the way you want it to run.
I subscribe to this as well. Would be an error to not have the voice in the QB ear be the playcaller. Too many egos.

you DO know there are only 2 positions available right now?
I do.

And I also know that means nothing.. due to the fact that the OC, i gotta think Mario will allow them to have influence on who’s on staff. So anyone of the current guys, beside OL obviously.. could be gone.

How are people saying streeter bad when he didn’t score any less then 27 with DJ at QB then when the better QB came in the offense started rolling better. All Clemson did was go out and upgrade doesn’t mean streeter is trash. And he can recruit the QB position at a high level. I think his offense would attract QBs and WRs

Maybe, but that’s a separate criteria.

It’s one thing to say there aren’t a lot of guys that we know have produced over and over again for a bunch of years now.

It’s another to target guys like Candle that we know *havent* done it over and over again for a bunch of years in a row. That have been bad.

The DC hire doesn’t have a long track record of success. But he also doesn’t have a long track record of failure. The sample size, as small as it is, is at least really good. Go get that for OC.
Well you use F+ or whatever it's called as the end all be all when you are evaluating OCs options and it's not that simple. There are a lot more factors you have to take into consideration. Like for candle despite him not grading out well in F+ his offenses have always found a way to be productive on the field

2012
Scoring 48th Total 32nd

2013
Scoring 39th Total 39th

2014
Scoring 19th total 15th

2015
Scoring 31st Total 31st

2016
Scoring 19th Total 8th

2017
Scoring 16th Total 14th

2018
Scoring 9th Total 28th

2019
Scoring 75th Total 38th

2020
Scoring 21st Total 13th

2021
Scoring 27th Total 38th

2022
Scoring 46th total 48th

Candle has been their play caller for 11 years and he's had only one offense that hasn't been in the Top 50 in scoring and that's before you take into consideration the talent he had to work with, the QB he had that season, Drops, missed throws, recruiting and etc. It's a whole lot of variables you have to look into.

Shannon Dawson's resume leaves a lot to be desired. I've seen several calling it a good hire. Did I miss the why post? Anyone want to sell me on him? TIA

Streeter is probably the best of the rumored options.

The Clemson offense improved significantly in the one year under him.

He got fired because he’s not arguably the best OC in college football. And Dabo knew he could get go get arguably the best OC in college football.
