The Meathead Did It Again

Dawson had a bunch of dumbass 4th down calls that would have changed the game. The offense lost this. You can say take the three but it was easily converted.
Total team effort on the loss. Defense was abused all day. Those 4th down calls were pretty awful.

The failed 4th and 1 in the 3rd qtr was Dawson over thinking things. We have been absolutely crushing teams on 4th and short with Martinez running the ball. I think Fletcher has converted one also. Anyway, we decide not to run it. Mistake #1. We go with a pass to our RB out of the backfield. I can actually live with this call if Martinez was in there. That was mistake #2. Wrong personnel in for that call. He's much better out of the backfield as a receiver. Martinez should not have been on the sidelines on that play.

The team was not ready to play today. Offense was sleepwalking for most of the game.

Mario let Key bend him over again. No pride or preparation. After losing that game last year to these jabronies, this was the game that we needed to come out with our hair on fire. Instead, we looked lost and confused for most of the game.

Not kicking at least 2 field goals and an extra point cost us the game, and the wasted TO was a killer. How are you not ready out of a GT timeout for a possible fake punt? Specially against a team that traditionally throws the kitchen sink at us.

Cam missed seeing open WR’s down the field repeatedly, and held the ball way too long. At some point you have to tell him as the head coach to take the check down.

Guidry needed to be fired yesterday. Terrible job once again. 6 games in a row where our D can’t get pressure on the opposing QB, can’t tackle, can’t cover, and have busted coverages galore.

Dawson isn’t exempt either. We wasted so many downs on good drives with stupid WR screen calls that would go for almost no yards.

Mario is always good for 1 or 2 bad losses. It never fails.

My final verdict on Mario is now in. If he can’t win with this QB, he will NEVER win a natty.

Now the countdown begins to the next 5 or 6 years, when we will hopefully be able to replace him.
I have the list ready for your review.

Mario will never beat this coach. Tech is going to beat us by 28 next year. The Yellowjackets (like Duke under Elko) are well coached and on the ascent.

Excellent post and next year will be the true test. If we don't get a proven QB in the portal say hello to 4 wins.

You do know that our chances of making the playoffs now are almost non-existent, right. We will definitely drop out of the Top 12.

The only hope that we have now is to somehow make it to the ACC Championship game, and to somehow win it.

Syracuse will murk us on the road. MacCord will easily throw for over 500 against us.

Next week, we will make WF look like a juggernaut offense once again. Hopefully Cam and the boyz will not be sleepwalking next week and actually prepare.
These could have happened earlier, everyone knew Miami couldn’t keep doing this type of play yet we embraced.
Now it we got it out in the open and fix it .

Believe me I was going nuts , seeing the same play Arroyo open running alone and Cam went another way incomplete , just to start.

Mario channeling his inner Nick Siriani with the two point try and forgoing fg’s.
I said this in the game thread lol, I’m an Eagles fan so I know the deal. That said I don’t like passing on points when you know it’s going to be a close game. Every point matters. You can’t coach every game and situation the same , Mario hasn’t learned that still.

Exactly. You don't start chasing points until you absolutely need to. I don't know what it is about Mario that makes him eschew the smart play in favor of "setting the tone" or "sending a message". He makes things so much harder for himself.

I’m not a fire Mario guy but Oregon was right. That team is well rounded, is coached better (by 10k miles), and even more damning is recruited better and evaluated better as well.
Mario is just above average that’s it

This loss will do more for this team than winning it . Came at a perfect time now we tasted the sourness embrace it let it fuel you .

Now it’s out of the way it’s a relief we all knew new was coming now let it leave and move on and run the table.
Now everyone knew it was coming but back when those who really saw it coming posted about it we were called trolls and FSU fans. SMH. Now we all saw it coming. For the record I see another loss coming as well.
