The Meathead Did It Again

Let me tell you this.... if you really know football and if we're going to point fingers on the offensive side, You would understand that this loss was not on Mario or Dawson. Cam was just not HIM yesterday. Go back and watch film. Arroyo was flat out uncoverable **** near all game and Cam decided to ignore him. Like he was literally wide opened in the middle of the field for a easy td and Cam held the ball, and made the decision to throw to the outside wr for an incompletion. And this game also showed what Cam has been struggling with ALL year. And that's completing the deep pass. He's been putting too much sauce on his deep throws. Which I'm not toooo mad about because I prefer overthrows than underthrows anyday! Just saying.

But the MAIN reason we lost and will potentially lose again.... is and will be the defense. At this point, it doesn't matter who you blame, coaches and players deserve an equal amount in my eyes. Yes the secondary is playing horrible but the most disappointing thing about this team so far has been the DLINE! The Dline was supposed to be the scariest thing about this team. The B&B(Bain and Barron) combo was supposed to be like Freddy and Jason lol. Man the whole defense is str8 absolute AZZZZZZZZ!!!! There's no one fix we can do this season. This defense is what it is.

Page305 I would agrree with you about Cam but despite his stats he's been struggling to hits open receivers and seeing the entire for several games. Where I disagree STRONGLY is that coaching played a major part in the loss. Mario is in charge of player development but he shines in player underdevelopment. If Cam is missing the field or taking too long to throw the ball it's the COACHING STAFF'S RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE HIM AWARE OF THIS SO HE MAKES THE NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. Also, the Meathead blew 7 points with his decisions to not take 6 points for FG'S and the extra point. He is a total clown and instead of admitting his mistakes he says the book tells him he made the right decisions. I bet the book says when your QB and offense is struggling you take the points.

Calm down on the TO for the punt. Were you even watching the game? GT came out in a muddle huddle with only the punter deep. That was something they showed us we had not seen before. It was a good timeout by Mario because there was confusion. If he doesn’t call TO they probably execute whatever they had up their sleeve and game over. Losing that timeout also had no bearing on the game. This offense can easily go 75 yards in 2 minutes with two timeouts.

Find something else to gripe about but the TO was absolutely the right call.

Cam's struggle is not a coaching thing. It's not a playcall thing. It's an ABILITY issue. Mario or Dawson can not FIX Cam missing on deep passes. I wholeheartedly promise you though, I am not complaining about Cam as a player. At all! The most enjoyable thing about this team has been him. And okay, I can slightly understand if you want to put some blame on Dawson this game. Slightly. But this one wasn't on Mario.

Some fans are ignorant to our history and myopic to our future. They live in the now and have about 15 minutes patience for fame and failure. F**k em’

That’s why you tell them punt safe and watch the fake in the timeout . Just because they showed a muddle huddle doesn’t mean Jack if you are aware of the situation. They did that because they likely knew he’d misuse the timeout because it would've been foolish as **** to fake a punt there. It would’ve been coaching malpractice. Mario just got played and burned a huge timeout like they wanted. He makes this way too complicated sometimes.

And NFL coaches do that all the time as well. They trick the other coach into wasting a timeout. It happens but sometimes you have to tip your hat and say well done. I stand by the fact that losing that timeout would not have had any impact if we could have sustained that last drive. **** it could have been a blessing to not allow our defense to go back out there if we do score.

We’ll just disagree. Me and most football people think it was idiotic. Especially in that spot when there was no way they were faking after playing the perfect game. On top of that any coach with sense would be in punt safe anyways. What i find funny everyone defends all the failed decisions then say the others had no impact in the game. You and nobody else knows that. He chose wrong on 3-4 huge plays . You can’t coach every game the same aggressive way. Every game is different. I’d I didn’t have years of evidence with this guy in game maybe I’m not as hard on him.
 
Some like a roller coaster of a marriage while others prefer calm and steady. No telling how smooth and even Williams is next year.

Could be better for us. Less exciting for sure.

Coaching played a huge hand in this game. GT and their staff made the game play out to their pace and their style of fight. Everything about the game was a better gameplan by one team. On both sides of the ball.

We can’t assume to know what Key was thinking. I bet there was a 50% chance they were going to fake that. If I am that coach I don’t want to give Cam another chance after he just made mince meat of my offense with little to no effort.

So for me that was at the bottom of the list for poor decisions. Again that TO had no bearing on game. Now not kicking the FG on 4th and 16 was just idiotic. Take the **** points. That was a hope and a prayer. Also not taking the points in first half was dumb too. At that point he should have known it was going to be a low scoring affair and any points were important.

With respect to the defense, yes it’s atrocious. However, short of firing Guidry mid season, what are you looking for?

At the end of the day, we were in a position to win the game on a game winning drive, but our “star” qb fumbles instead of throwing to his check down. I don’t blame Mario for that

I would like to see different running plays. I would like to see outside runs with some of our faster backs. That would help drives stay alive and take pressure off the passing game.
