The Bank (5/19)

What strikes me about our recruiting is how national it has become.
I love it. Since we've been getting played for the last 10 years I been waiting for us to move this route. I understand the "keep them home" perspective but man a lot of dudes don't want to stay home. Plenty of 4 and 5 star talent all around the country and Miami aint a bad place to spend your college years.

For real…Bama signs a million 5/4 star CBs but then gets the top one in the portal and I’m sure they’ll land more in 2024.

They sign with Bama knowing they’ll likely ride the bench but we sign a couple of five stars and now it’s I don’t know if I’ll play right away.

FOH!
bc bama sends kids tot he league and wins. we dont do either.

What about if they lord forbid get hurt or don’t pan out we need to stack good players on top of each other. I know Mario knows lineman his Oregon offensive line last year wasn’t highly recruited per se but they were top 5 in the country still.
We’re still gonna recruit tackles ffs, but they not gonna be TOP tier talent. We aren’t a big boy school that can’t constantly get top talent, rn for our backup we can can still recruit solid talent just not the elite for a backup.

Th

That's what I'm thinking too they gonna have guys wait for the heavy hitters like Scott and Stone, but hoping they make summer commitments to get more clarity to our board. And I got them with at least 3 edge guys maybe 4
Excited to see it play out. Have a good feeling

Not disagreeing with you necessarily but also Mario comes outta freaking nowhere with names constantly

The days are over when we basically know everyone we are targeting by June and then have to scramble at the end for diamonds in the rough

I agree, we aren’t gonna have to scramble for a guy. But I kinda just meant that because of our one the field success plus Samson/Mauigoa is gonna dissuade a Brandon Baker from coming here rn.

We’re gonna be fine in recruiting

We have not .... recently.... but that is going to change. No more Manny, crappy development and recruiting. Irresponsible players running wild. Manny did a TON of damage to this program and Radakovich / Mario / Zo are tasked with the repair job.
not in 20 years. its not a Manny issue. it was an issue before Manny. stop just blaming one person. richt didnt send kids to the league, golden didnt, Shannon didnt, Coker didnt. only butches developed kids went high. no one was getting developed here since buthc left. kids would always peak as young kids and regress at the end when they should hit their peak. if you think its all Manny, youre gonna be disappointed.

One thing I'll say about this staff, and only time will tell if they're ultimately right, but they seem to absolutely trust their own evals. The guys we've seen with early offers that are starting to blow up have me really excited.
Completely agree. Their evals also seem to follow some line of logic like prototypical measurables, or elite numbers. It’s not like these are plan c kids already, these are kids that were identified right from jump street that had the green light early.

You could argue Mario's Miami Machine* is already showing some elements of Bama/Jawga prowess.

I think Clemson is falling off a cliff...
I think Clemson is in trouble if Klubnick can’t make that offense what we are used to from Clemson. Yeah they have talent but that defense just lost a lot to the draft and Shipley can’t do it all on offense.

100% I’ve been saying the same kinda thing. We see coaches able to sell playing time work across the country. We’ve seen it here plenty of times.

But it’s like every good class we’ve landed it’s always followed up with what ends up being total duds. Like clockwork. So as much as last year was a great class I think this year is where Mario really shows how good he is.

Some of y’all are gonna leave the site if Mario has another bad year, and that makes me sad. You won’t be band, but your little hearts won’t be able to keep on beating.

I think people’s “little hearts” are going to be just fine. Mostly we have grown men posting here, with jobs and a life. Mostly.

Can we honestly stop asking why Georgia and Alabama can do things that we can't? It's blatantly obvious that those schools win championships and put guys into the first round yearly. While we're hoping to improve to 7-5 and finish in the top half of the ACC. Miami just doesn't have the credibility that the powerhouse programs have. Maybe if we start to win and turn a couple 5 stars into 1st rounders, we can do things that Alabama and Georgia do.
We have one 10 win season in how many years with how many day 1 or day 2 picks? Compared to championships, draft record, etc. Yet people are inexplicably confused.
