Talk lately has me a little nervous about 2020 football season. Thoughts?

Do you think we will play football in 2020?

I say the same to you. Like I said stay on your soapbox. You haven't given one fact just put downs. Yet you think you're right. Carry on bud....
There are no concrete facts other than people are dying, it's a highly infectious virus, and your weirdo redneck crew called the virus a hoax as late as March. Sorry if I don't believe any of the trash fake "facts" spewing from rotten-toothed sewers of the mongoloids who called this virus a hoax a month ago.

Have fun in the sandbox....

California has indicated that there will not be large gatherings for the rest of the year. I expect some schools will cancel the season and some will play in empty stadiums.

What does the state consider a large gathering? Did they put a cap or number on it?

This is a major monkey wrench to every statistical study:

Any thinking person knows that if you're only testing a microscopic percentage of the population and refusing tests to people without symptoms that the actual numbers are much higher. The numbers are only showing the people who have been tested.

Appreciate the attempt....

If you can't test quickly and thoroughly or come up with a vaccine or effective treatment/cure, then the only people who will be congregating in large tightly packed crowds are redneck hoaxers. Civilized people will not want to be in tight quarters until they're comfortable with widespread testing/vaccine/proven effective treatment.

Some random article or anecdotal claims will not persuade thinking civilized people. So, the puffy hoax proclaimer and his followers will have trouble "opening the country" when the only people participating will be mainly braindead poor Kool Aid chugging rednecks. The major hubs of the financial universe will still be avoiding large congregations.

The 10 minute antibody test isn't anecdotal.

I suspect the pro-business lobbyists are going to win out on this.

With each passing day, the "oh god oh god we are all going to die" narrative crumbles.

That doesn't diminish the tragedy for those we have passed, but it's reality.

We shall see how this plays out soon enough.

The more testing becomes widespread, the less statistically insignificant becomes.

We are well past the n=30 stage.

Serious people are beginning to see the data and handwriting on the wall--the rate is no where near what was initially feared.

That is a great thing.

Perhaps life can take steps towards a new normal sooner than later.

Might need to break down the info. Attention span in tbe sandbox is limited according to research....

QUESTION:

Will YOU go to HRS this Fall...

With vaccine/treatment?

Without vaccine/treatment but wear a mask?

I'll go either way.

Seems like there's a balance between the "we're all going to die" model, which I haven't seen, and the "it's another hoax" model that was bouncing around about a month ago. Seems like the truth is it's a pretty serious virus that will wind up killing a whole lot of people, and that shutting down the country wound up saving hundreds of thousands (potentially millions) of lives. It looks less catastrophic at this point, in largest part, because people started taking it so seriously.
