Talk lately has me a little nervous about 2020 football season. Thoughts?

Do you think we will play football in 2020?

It is amazing how fast scientist, universities, and drug companies are coming up with new positive developments. Operation Warp Speed is working on getting a vaccine developed. It could bee ready as early as September or October four front line and essential personnel. I think that college football athletes are, or at least should be, considered essential personnel.

Oh how fast "expert opinions" and "data" changes when they become so very wrong.

But..but...but!!

Italy!!! the death rate!!

Only simps and muppets get taken in by such ridiculousness.

@Mklein13 what do you think about a simppet? Simp + Muppet?

Maybe suppet?

Arguably not my best work...

I need a ruling here...

Suppet is not up to your lofty standards, IMO. We are all exhausted from the national nightmare we have endured.

Arizona and ASU opening campuses this Fall. Still think odds of NCAA football this year are 30-40% at best. What're they gonna do when, say, only half of the schools in a conference want to play? Realign teams like baseball is now looking at possibly doing?

I read an interesting article earlier talking about what could happen if the football season gets pushed to spring. The thinking was that big time players with top 5 draft pick aspirations like T. Lawrence or Fields may consider sitting out the season if the season is that close to the NFL draft. Who knows, maybe this ends up being the break Miami has needed for a long, long time. Get a shot at Clemson in the ACC championship game without Lawrence at QB? I'll take it.

In before the "we want them at their best" retards.

I want football back in a bad way, but I think this is all premature b.s.. Wait till the Wuhan Flu lawsuits start. The first "star" football player to get sick (which I really really hope none of them catch this God forsaken bug) there will be brakes pumped all over the place. Unless there is blanket immunity passed by legislation, I really can't see all this coming to fruition.

The vast majority of the population that contracts the wuhanbatflu will have nothing more than a sore throat. Most won't even know they had it.

It only takes one case. This is a PR disaster waiting to happen if they decide to play when (not if) the first positive case comes in.

Hypothetical: Night before Alabama vs LSU after all the traveling has been done, report comes in that 15 Bama players just tested positive. One player had symptoms so they tested the whole team. 14 asymptomatic. Of the 14 asymptomatic cases is the starting QB, starting LT and best LB. The 1 symptomatic player is a walk on practice squad dude who came down with a chest cold and a 102 fever. What do they do about playing the game?
