Talk lately has me a little nervous about 2020 football season. Thoughts?

Do you think we will play football in 2020?

Docs from Kern County video.

Very scary censorship by YouTube.
Oh, I read about that. It turns out they had some statistics mixed up and then people took it decidedly political.

YouTube's censorship should scare people, but it won't as long as it goes the way they want it to. They can excuse any censorship under the guise of correcting the record.

On NBC SN Pro Football Talk they were talking about issues that I imagine some have brought up on CIS.

Public perception.

According to Peter King people within the NFL worry about public perception a lot.
(I will extend that to NCAA Football head honchos as well.)

The CliffsNotes version of their conversation was that in order to have the sport run within the safest environment there must be constant testing of players and staff.
If this happens many within the general public will be angry if sports teams are able to have carte blanche access to constant test results while the average person in various cities cannot even get tested once.

No Sports League or Program wants to be known as the organization that hogs all the tests away from common people.

That I think could be the biggest hurdle when pertaining to sports stating up this year.
Not necessarily the virus itself but the PR nightmares Sports Leagues, Athletic Departments and Conferences want to be very delicate with.

And the hystericals and chicken littles are now stampeding each other as they run for the exits:

G Newsom (CA's Gov) briefed yesterday he will very likely open CA schools in May.

IF he follows through, good chance Fall school calendar goes forward as well.

Oh how just a few weeks and rapidly changing public opinion magically make this all safe now. The data says MILLIONS will die!!!!

But...but....but!!!!

Shame these people every chance you get. Every single one. Shame them with nothing but contempt for the damage they have wrought.
It's so hard, Muppet Master. They start to put us down with middle school comebacks. Ohhh, the fear....

Optics optics optics. It's not about health, it's about optics. That's why there will be no CFB this year.

The NBA is going to start letting players use team facilities beginning on the 1st. I don't know what basketball and baseball will do, but I think football will be fine. At worse we might be looking at a little bit of a late start.

I work at a 21-story building (well, I did, prior to all this). There are scores of vendors, elevators, and parking. There aren't bathrooms on every level. Obviously, it makes sense for people in our building to work from home if possible; that is exactly what has been happening. Other large, crowded places with much potential for exposure should follow suit. But this same scenario does not apply to all businesses. Many (e.g. auto body shops) have little person-to-person interaction. Why should they be closed?

The main source of revenue for sports is television. There is minimal risk to players if the game goes on without the public in the stands. At the very least, play the games without spectators. This is particularly true with basketball and soccer. The number of players, coaches, and trainers just does not amount to many people.

It seems like the discussion of practical logistics is getting lost by the media outlets.

People keep saying late start. The later we start, the deeper we get into the flu season. Doesn’t make sense.

$EC doesn't care about optics. Majority of the towns where $EC schools play football have very few people hospitalized from the chinabatflu.

Even hystericals and chicken littles are creeping towards reason. Or maybe the Gov of NJ is just anti-science, ****, wants MILLIONS to die, super douche bag. You decide.

I'm telling you. SHAME every single hysterical and chicken little for the rest of their lives. No pass, give no quarter for what these people have done.

This wasn't "well intentioned". This was idiocy at best, and planned economic warfare on a current administration for purely political purposes at worst.

FFS. This is third world garbage. Our nation used to be a shining city on the hill, flaws and all. What has happened?

I'd remind re-progressives this isn't a f[]cking game of escapism or "wouldn't it be cool" to live in dystopia, but one of their many superpowers is complete lack of self awareness for stupidity.

They'll care when the advertisers pull out. 70% of the country has been convinced by the fear **** media that they should stay in their house until a vaccine comes out or forever, whichever happens first. Meanwhile, the virus is killing about 0.25% of people who get it, and the overwhelming majority of that 0.25% are not people in the workforce.

It is amazing how fast scientist, universities, and drug companies are coming up with new positive developments. Operation Warp Speed is working on getting a vaccine developed. It could bee ready as early as September or October four front line and essential personnel. I think that college football athletes are, or at least should be, considered essential personnel.

Good point. I retract my bad optics argument. Shooting up poor black kids with experimental vaccinations so they can entertain us by playing football for no pay while their classmates wear masks and socially distance, and we stay home because it's too dangerous to attend the games is very good optics.
