Sunday scrimmage

You were saying?

But, the one coherent thing you ALMOST said is that neither of them are exclusively SS or FS, both have some interchangeable responsibility. But, based on their strengths, the coaches will likely continue to put them in positions to play them up (Jenkins deep and Bush closer to LOS)

Again.... you dont think that has to do with the coaching staff knowing that Jenkins is a liability in run support so they are allowing him to only play to his strength??

My point is D. Bush can play deep better then Jenkins, but since Deon is ALSO the best safety on the team when it comes to supporting the run the coaches are playing him closer to the LOS so they can get the most out of R. Jenkins as well.

Now since Jamal Carter is in the mix, he is also a beast in run support.... so eventually the coaching staff might switch Deon Bush to more deep assignments to preserve his health, which would mean he would put Jenkins on the bench.

FWIW, Swasey wasn't yelling at Kacey during the FSU game.

He was yelling at VT for *****ing out and taking himself out of the game right before that play happened...

Yes, you are right - I had forgotten it was VT; I knew he was yelling at someone on the sideline b/c of that play.

I'll tell y'all boys something...if our defense looks like that in real games against first teamers, then we are going to be making late season travel plans for Pasadena.

So Sean Harvey has been moved to OL.

Could be in response to Odogwu going down yesterday.

There were no reports that he went down yesterday. Some guy said he read it somewhere and then couldn't produce where he read it. Sean Harvey got moved because he is now 275 lbs.

btw didn't Bush have a similar play against FSU too, where he made the right play?

dammit mane... Bush had the pick but Kacey knocked the ball out of his hands.. lol... ******* Kacy

lol I think it was L. Gunter who knocked the ball out of his hands.... but yeah that was Bush's int.

Like I said Bush has no limitations to his game besides his obvious health concerns..... thats why I can see Jamal Carter beating out Ray Jenkins for the starting spot b/c of #26's liability in run support.

If you watch the video from yesterday you see him go down awkwardly and then he didn't return. I have no idea if he's out for one week or if his career is over. I also don't know why Harvey was moved to OL, but I think it has more to do with needing some guys to play OL on the scout team.

Unfortunately for Rodgers, I think his tackling is essentially a running commentary on what he lacks which is fundamental football ability. He may be well-intentioned and he is obviously physically talented but when you watch him tackle it is illustrative of a guy who's just not a tackler. And at heart, Rodgers just doesn't seem to be a football player. Surely he's been instructed in the defense and I can guarantee that nobody has taught him to tackle people by their neck rolls and shoulder pads. But, when a RB approaches, his natural instinct seems to be to grab at his neck. When that pass came in that first FSU game, he didn't have the natural instinct to make a football play--either on the ball or on the man. In short, he lacks the basic instincts of a football player.

Unfortunately for us, Rodgers being bad doesn't make these other guys good. If he's on the field, it's probably not because Golden is his friend. It's because all the other guys that people anoint before they've done much of anything aren't that good yet. And there's a fair bet that this is true. Much of this defense is still young.

If someone were to make the switch I think he'd be the most likely. But hey, I'm not even a Canes fan so what the **** do I know.

I disagree with the entire 2nd paragraph....

First ppl giving KC **** on that horse collar tackle against Duke sound ridiculous b/c its a lose lose for him with you guys.... If you watch that play KC closed in on him fast as **** and was about to tackle him "properly" but Duke hit him with a stiff arm to the face....

Now he couldve *****ed up and conceded defeat and let Duke break away from him and score, but then you all would be clowning KC for that... where was the "special" Ray Jenkins to make that play???.... hmmm.

As far as your 2nd paragraph goes how does KC's flaws as a safety mean the other guys arent good??? Who are you talking about?? Deon hasnt practiced at all in Fall Camps yet, Ray Jenkins is starting in the other spot and Jamal Carter is just a true freshman still learning???

AJ Highsmith is worse then KC Rodgers and the walk-ons Jordan Tolson and Fentress are walk-ons.... so i'm confused as to how KC being on the field means that Deon, Ray. Jenkins, and Jamal Carter arent good????

Your troll game is plenty weak. Today it may be at its weakest. SMH at "he didn't return". Every knows you don't know that.

All it takes is some ability to perceive things and not be complete simpleton. Seantrel was running with the 2's after for the rest of the way after Sonny went down. Not my fault that you're not intelligent enough to use things like deductive logic to find out the truth.

You have no idea when the injury occurred. Early or late. There is no proof that they give us highlights in the order they happened. You're guessing. Say they held him out as a precaution. They're switching a player's position just because a kid got hurt and will be out a few day at most? What we do have is 5 scholarship TEs. No need for a 275 lb TE in Harvey who isn't all that athletically gifted in the first place.

I don't know for sure, but guessing isn't necessary because Seantrel running with the 2's means that something likely happened to Sonny. As for the reason Harvey got moved, I couldn't care less. Isidora is out, Knighton is allegedly hurt, and now Sonny might be out so while I don't think the Harvey switch was necessarily made out of necessity I don't think it's a bad idea.

Especially the secondary. Rodgers and Highsmith are the only guys with at least two years under their belts within this system. Even though our young guys have played a lot it's still scary to think about.
