Sunday scrimmage

Wasn't it KC that K Benjamin tossed aside not looking for the ball, which changed the momentum of the FSU game last year?

yep it was 6:06 (SMH)

I'm pretty sure that's the worst play I've ever seen out of a University of Miami safety

Deadly combination for any WR, Chambers Rodgers LLP

we lost that game on that play and the muff by TB on the punt before the half. FSU sleptwalked through that game and won

Kacy stands out for doing a lot of things that don't contribute to quality play.

In fact I am not sure of many solid things he has done here on the field.

Honestly feel like he could play nickle or dime CB, just don't expect to catch the ball. I seem to remember them playing him on slot receivers a little at the end of last season and he didn't look awful.

I forgot the play, but he was playing safety and the QB chucked the ball into the end zone. Kacy could have either made a play on the ball (correct move) or make a hit on the WR, instead he choose to do a combo which lead to a wide open WR catching an easy TD.

Do you remember the game I am talking about? It was at the end of the game and I am pretty sure that TD was the go ahead for the other team.

Yes, it was FSU. He also got chewed out by Swasey on the sideline after that play.

I really feel that golden is putting a lot of his hard work in the hands of rodgers and highsmith, and I dont know if thats fair to himself and his team, but its his call and i hope im wrong in the little amount of faith I have in those 2

If he gets anything out of them I give him a lot of credit. Ben Jones, Brandon McGee, Davon Johnson, J. Lewis and a few others shocked me when they made contributions to our team. These guys would shock me a lot more.

I guess with Bush injured or recovering he is just making sure someone can play or put in some quality burn.

In Rodgers' defense, that was his first start at Safety since Aravious Armstrong was suspended for tweeting pics of a dinner while with his gf/agent.

The problem is he hasn't gotten much better.

I think your whole post sums up everyone's thoughts on him.

If he made the bad play at FSU and rebounded, I don't think people would be riding him so hard. But he hasn't rebounded yet.

I'm thinking that Jamal Carter might be better then Ray Jenkins as a Strong Safety.... he did a good job read and reacting to the ball the couple of times i saw him in these highlights.

Even though Ray is big it seems he is more of a free safety then a strong, he isnt as explosive in run support as u'd think he would be.

Deon Bush and Jamal Carter might end up being our best starting safety tandem before the season is out.

Carter is a flat out stud and has a higher ceiling than Jenkins IMO

Both are studs with very high ceilings. But, I already see people getting blinded by star rankings and selling Jenkins short for the sake of hyping Carter.

Jenkins is a special kind of playmaker and IMO is the best ballhawk currently on our roster.

And as for zone's post, yes Carter may be a better SS than Jenkins, but that's ok because that is moreso Bush's role. Stop looking at their weights, Jenkins is a free safety. He's at his best when roaming deep

Nobodies selling Jenkins short for the sake of hyping Carter, i like Jenkins but i'm just calling it like i see it.... I just think Jenkins isnt as physical as he should be for somebody thats almost 220lbs and that excuse about me not focusing on his weight b/c he is a free safety is ridiculous.

You all are selling D. Bush short for the sake of hyping Jenkins.... Jenkins isnt more so a free safety, his position is Strong Safety... and being a SS isnt Bush's role either, the both of them have the SAME responsiblities.... Bush is just that good of an athlete that he is roaming the field and has the instincts to come up in run support and make a play also.

I dont even see how you can say R. Jenkins is a "special" kind of playmaker at this point either, he only showed up late last season after Bush went down and before that Deon Bush was the only safety i saw making plays roaming in space.

R. Jenkins is a solid safety but he needs to do more before I call him "special" and the safety position has looked lackluster w/o D. Bush back there in these fall camps so far.... He has basically been a ghost out there b/c i havent seen him do much of anything lately beside get juked to death by Duke Johnson in that scrimmage yesterday.

Honestly in Deon Bush's absence, K. Rogers, J. Carter, and Fentress are the only safeties i have seen make some sort of play to this point.

If Bush and Carter aren't on the field, I'll take Fentress all day ... Dude is all heart

Your'e a funny poster. I don't think you mean to be, but you are. Have you been watching practices? If you've been out there then I'll listen to what you have to say. If not, then you've just seen about 20 total defensive clips of a week's worth of practice that were carefully selected by football operations to serve their interests.

If you can't see that Jenkins did his best when playing deep safety and Bush did his best when closer to the LOS, then I don't know what to tell you.

Both showed GREAT signs as freshmen, and I'm super excited about where they are both headed. They compliment each other perfectly. I don't understand why some are trying to make an issue out of this.

The encouraging part about Carter, aside from the obvious, is what our coaches have been able to do with athletes (albeit special ones) that don't have experience at the safety spot. Carter at least has a feel for the spot coming in so he is already ahead of those guys in that respect.

You were saying?

But, the one coherent thing you ALMOST said is that neither of them are exclusively SS or FS, both have some interchangeable responsibility. But, based on their strengths, the coaches will likely continue to put them in positions to play them up (Jenkins deep and Bush closer to LOS)

You are making an issue trying to define Deon Bush, like he has limititations to his game just so you can hype Jenkins... thats how i see it. You do know that in order to be a great safety you have to be able to make an impact in coverage and in run support, right???

Deon Bush is a better free safety and strong safety in there respective definitions then Ray Jenkins is.... Bush just has that "IT" factor to his game, he can have an impact roaming the field and have an impact making plays down hill, and thats my point, but you are so bent on hyping Jenkins that you want to downplay Bush's talents in the process.

Ray Jenkins can roam the field but since he isnt strong in run support you all want to say that means he is just the best Free safety on the team he doesnt have to worry about the other half of the job description smh. Ray Jenkins should be destroying ppl from the safety spot and doing his job as a field general at the same time.... just like Deon Bush. But I havent seen that to this point, I like him but he still has a ways to go before i can call him "special."

Man y'all are hating on Huggy Bear Rogers.. Lol. I thought he showed improvement the last few games last season. Made several good plays on D & some really nice tackles on ST. Boneheaded play to horsecollar Duke but he tried easing up at the end.. Also that FSU play killed me too but I think he just had a deer in the headlights moment & froze up at the wrong time. IMO he will have a solid senior year & surprise a lot of people. He is a great athlete & a beast in the weight room.. now if he can just play fast/have fun. (think he will)
