and LOL at the underlined. You're just making stuff up. Pete said the miami sparq combine was not worth his time to go. Not practice. Huge difference, and obviously you didn't understand that. I don't understand how the two are anyway related especially since he said that in the recruiting board. But anyways, the miami sparq combine is just recruits running 40s, cone drills, power ball throws, vertical jump, etc. It really isn't worth the time to sit around and the stands just to watch that. There is a later event held where the players actually scrimmage.

You're correct. Mixed that one up with the scores of other negative posts that had more to do with UM. Just get the vibe that Pete's receiving a lot more "information" from those with axes to grind than those inside the Hecht or on the staff and it slants his views.

Has nothing to do with. You guys think Pete only gets his information from certain people but that couldn't be further from the truth.
People are just tired of losing. When we continually lose, there will be negative views about the state of the program. The fact that golden didn't make a single staff change after two horrendous years of defense also shows he's stubborn. He's out of excuses. The ncaa mess is gone, his 2011 class is now seniors, his first real recruiting class is now juniors, and it's time for him to win big or lose his job. While I believe he has Will muschamp type job security (4 wins in 2013 with no firing) for this year, if he doesn't pick it up he won't be the coach at miami anymore. No one is rooting for him to fail. We all want to win big. But people put the green and orange shades to the side and look at reality, and reality is that we are not making significant progress.
Yes, we went from 6 to 7 to 9, but last season was filled with horrible games. We barely beat inferior opponents, and looked completely inept on the defensive side of the ball. It was the easiest schedule we've had in a while and we couldn't make it to the ACC championship game. When we had two chances to seal the deal.

I agree with most of that. If I don't see a better product on the field next year, Id be in favor of major changes. I think the staff was more hamstrung than most by the NCAA. I see both sides of the argument in reataining/firing coach D, but I'll defer to Those closest to the situation on that.
There are constructive ways to criticize the coaching/staff, and there are others. The others overwhelm this board and make it hard to read at times.
There are posters here too invested in "I told ya so" who will be rooting for failure next year. Hope you guys can control that.
We sucked at the end of the year, but losing Duke changed the team. Relying so heavily on one player falls on the staff too, but that changed everything.

I don't think the ncaa had a big of an impact as golden says it did. Either way, he will have to put out a better product on the field but I'm not holding my breath. With this schedule I say 7-8 wins next year.

Can't fault Chise at all.. Everyone who has half a brain saw this year 2... Chise opened his eyes and saw that the "don" just talks the talk.. Smart Man.. I personally think we sink this year. Which unless we get rid of Al or find a young and up coming coach means our 2015 recruiting class will look like our 2013 or even worse our 2011 class.

You know about as much as me. UTOUGH has been brought up by many on here as being very positive, but now all of a sudden it is a PR stunt! Pete has taken exception to some of his sources being attacked on here. IMO.

Hating on utough is ridiculous! Of course naming it utough is for PR. It also helps the team rather than it just being called winter conditioning. Would be more excited for utough or winter conditioning!? Urban Meyer wouldn't refer to byu when he was at Utah. Called them the team in Provo. Does the same at ohio st with michigan. It's all pr and the smart coaches do crap like this to excite the fans, boosters and team. I don't remember if it was either a few didn't pass the conditioning test in goldens first year or if nobody did. Last year everybody did. No question the team is better conditioned and a big part is utough. To hate on it is ridiculous.

If UTOUGH was so easy then someone needs to tell the players, because for years they've complained about how hard it is.
UTOUGH is about mental development more than anything, but Miami's issues the past few seasons were more talent, injuries, and changing of schemes on defense than conditioning.

Lol, even the staff writers are going in on the program before the season has even started. At least wait till the season starts before we start bashing the guys and their workout regime. I'll be highly skeptical of doing interviews for guys who already assumed our season is a bust. What's done is done, can't change the 2013 season. All we have to look forward to is the upcoming season. Lets hope that these guys (players, coaches) are putting in the necessary work to be more competitive this year. Pretty sad when a workout(UTough) thread becomes a thread about how useless the workout program is. To those staff writers that think its a joke, why don't you interview Perryman, Aqm, Feliciano, etc...and tell them what a joke of a workout they are doing; and also let them know that their season is pretty much done before it has started. Kind of confuse by this site, we interview recruits and encourage them to check out this site, but it seems like every good thread gets derailed and becomes anti-Miami on here. Just let the season play out.

The axe to grind stuff is important to note. I actually think Pete has done an awesome job of becoming increasingly more objective in his perspectives. In another thread, I remember distinctly congratulating him for what was now becoming straight journalism. None of that means he can't or won't give his opinion during discussions here and elsewhere. I think it means we, as readers, have to realize the difference between a journalism piece and message board opinion.
Either way, it's encouraging to see that, in this case for real, we're trending up!
