Sony close to a decision?

I can't believe that one kid from BTW gave posters a mild case of soft shoulders.

We can get in a big circle and ******* all over each other, or we can have rational discussions. Guys doubting the "Sony as diehard Cane" or "Sony as lock" campaigns are merely applying some critical analysis to what seem to be flawed theories based on Sony's actions. Deeds not words, my friend.

I and many others don't feel he is a lock. That's a strawman. People are comparing Sony's recruitment to a kid that people knew wanted to leave for years(Thomas). That is erroneous. This isn't about Sony being a lock.

The same kid who was throwing up the U all the time (****** Traitor Thomas that is)? There's no strawman at all. Check the thread and others about Sony. The phrase "born a Cane" and similar verbiage is all over the place. On top of that, the original post that led me into the discussion from jandman claimed that Sony is a bigger UM fan than the guys on this board and that he will be committing here for sure.

To tell people that point out the differences in recruitment that they are commitmed to the idea he is a lock( or circle jerking) is a strawman.

Thomas was never "Born" a cane ,but ok. That's not news,.

This just reminds me of Noel Devine. For years we heard "wait til he comes - he's a cane lock and is the next great back!" people fapping over his freshman highlights, etc. I've seen the same sort of Internet hype here - which may indeed be warranted. But the 4 years of Devine hype ended in disappointment, so I'm tempering my expectations here.

I'm not talking about ****** Thomas. He's dead to me. The concept that Sony was born a Cane and is some diehard Cane fan isn't supported by his actions. That's all. There's room for critical analysis on the concept of him being a Cane diehard/lock without being called a soft-shouldered jizzrag. Have a good remainder of your Sunday, sir.

i don't think an early commitment is imminent, but, if one is, it would point to UM. i didn't say he's a lock, but, he's a fan, he's local, UM has a glaring need for a big time after not getting one this class. early playing time is pretty much guaranteed to sony or cook or whoever comes in this class.

the only reason he's not sure about committing to us is that he wants to be a five star RB.

if he commits to us, he knows that will bring an automatic negative star handicap.

Funny, but very true, he has to wait till the FINAL ratings if he wants to keep his fifth star

Not true at all and pretty stupid.

Duke Johnson committing to us didn't cost him a 5star ranking. Alex Collins committing to us didn't cost him a 5star ranking either.

This whole star ranking bias against UM conspiracy is pure hogwash.

Actually a few former employees came clean about how the cook the books so kids who are going to schools with big subscription bases get a boost. Obviously that pushes down the other kids.

The who ranking system is a joke. Not only are these kids ranked by people who are unemployable in sports or as a real journalist, but they even cook the books after that.

If you want to see where a kid is "ranked" by the experts, look at his offer sheet.

Yeah, I posted something about this type of thing recently, either here or on Grassy. Back in the '80's, there was no Rivals or Scout. There was SuperPrep, Lemming, Emfinger, G&W.etc. Emfinger told a friend that he had to move his rankings around to appear better to a locale where he was appearing on radio. He wanted to have that area's prospects higher rated so it would generate interest in his newsletter. This crap has been going on forever. I think you guys worry way too much about what the recruiting writers think. Most of them don't know much, they've never played the game, never coached it. The only exception I know of might be Luginbill, I think his father was head coach at San Diego State, and he had some coaching experience himself. I don't know if Luginbill still does ESPN, since I don't go to that site, It used to be more open, now I think they only make the content available to the subscribers.

Many others were. The people my comment was directed towards.

Up for debate
That's all. There's room for critical analysis on the concept of him being a Cane diehard/lock without being called a soft-shouldered jizzrag.
There's room for critical analysis. Defeatism and comparisons to some dip**** from BTW simply because they are both very important SoFla recruits that could leave is not critical analysis.
Have a good remainder of your Sunday, sir.

A good day to you as well, sir.

I know we hate the term lock but Sony is a lock for UM and his probably a bigger UM fan than you guys lol

If he is such a lock why has he made visits to other schools like FSU UGA ND & Florida?

idk because he's a 16 year old kid and is highly recruited why wouldn't you visits those schools and see something other than SFL.
And maybe he sees something he likes. I know he really enjoyed the UGA trip he raved about it. Canes said 6 was a lock and what happen? Canes said Bostwick was a lock and what happen?

still having *** with different women daily

UGA is the leader here folks

he isn't going to FSU per his teammates....Georgia is the biggest competition and Notre Dame he's looking at too. One of his good friends goes to each school. Bottom line is we win big this year beat FSU and Florida and we have him plus the rest of the elite guys down here.

Shouldn't have to "win big" to get a monster Canes fan to stay home and attend UM. I hope he comes even if we only win the Coastal again.

it's recruiting, does this **** ever make sense? the kid just wants to know he will play for a good team and not a team that has been average the last four years. Come Feb. he signs with Miami

Good points, Devine had major grade issues if I remember correctly. Hopefully that will not be an issue with Sony.

Too many others have said dont take this lock for granted, and dream school/fan means s h i t. Have you not learned? Unless he comes out like Duke did, nothing is a lock

No such thing as a lock unless he is commited and not answering calls or taking visits.
Even then it's not a sure thing.

I don't know about that.
Duke was a Cane lock. If anybody was born a Cane it was Duke, and probably RLIII.
When those two were born they probably yelled out, "IIIII"""MMMMM AAAAA CCCAAAAANNNNEEEEE!!!!!!" right after the doctor put them in their mama's lap.

Sony ain't no ******* lock. Stupid thing to say really.

We probably have as much a lead for him as we did for Bostwick last year so......

IIRC jandman said Bostwick and Kirkland were locks as well.
